Outlook express doesn't download attachments!

Good day everybody,

I have this strange case which I want to share with you. I have a GMail account which I'm using in outlook express. I've been using outlook for a long time with this account with no problems, but a few days ago I dowloaded an email using outlook and it contained no attachments, while the email on GMail web server had attachments. The file types were .xls and .pdf so they weren't of a suspicious nature.
I doubted the security settings, so I change IE security zone to Internet Zone (it was Restricted Sites Zone), and I removed the check mark from "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.."

Anyway, it happened again...
I don't know what to do, it's very bad and disturbing...

I just want to point out that the problem is with a specific account (sender)...

 

• By default, Microsoft Outlook blocks attachment files ( such as .bat, .exe, .vbs, and .js) that can contain viruses. You cannot see or access the attachments. Your Inbox will display the paperclip icon in the Attachment column to let you know that the message has an attachment, and you will see a list of the blocked attachment files in the InfoBar at the top of your message. If you try to open the attachment by right-clicking the item, View Attachments will not appear on the shortcut menu. If you need to use files, such as .exe files, from others, have them post the files to a network share or to a Web share that you can access.

 

He's using Outlook Express, not Outlook.

As I said, the attachments were excel and EDI files...
