    Hello :)

My problem is with my Wireless router (by Pirelli).
I want to add a code to it so that no one steals from my network, so I entered my routers address to the address bar and a screen pops up (with the Pirelli logo) asking me for an ID and a password.
Now I dont have a manual of the router so I searched at its bottom to find any numbers that might be relevant.
I found a P/N (I suppose that stands for Password Number) and found some other numbers by going to START > Network > Double click on my routers icon > Properties > Tab "Network Device" and there it lists a Series Number, a MAC address, a Unique ID, and an IP address.

I have tried pressing all those in any combination possible and still I cant get in.

As for information, well Pirelli's page has absolutely nothing to help me, whereas in the same tab ("Network Device") it lists "Vendor" as the manufacturer company and not Pirelli. It even gives a link to the site of this company which is just a page without any content; just the logo of the company and nothing more.

Well thats my problem. Hopefully someone can help me.

    Me too. :p

Unfortunately it didnt work. I could only try the 2 possible entries, because the "microbusiness" is too big a word to be entered (It has a max of 10 characters to enter for either ID or password).
I reset my router a couple of times and tried again but it didnt work. :(

Since this is relevant I'll post it in my thread again.
I have managed to get into my routers configuration menu and unfortunately I can only set it have WEP encryption (the weakest encryption!) because the other laptop that will be connecting to my router is old-school...
Anyway, there are many options there:

    WEP mode: 64 bit / 128 bit
Key Entry Method: HEX / ASCII
    Key Provisioning: Static / Dynamic

Now my internet connection is 6mbs download. Do the speeds (64/128 bits) affect my speed?
I also dont understand what the other two options regulate and dont know what to choose.... :(

Also below it has 4 keys to insert and the preselected numbers are (for key 1) "0101010101" and (for key 2) "0202020202" and so on.
Can I reset the keys to any number I want? Or does it have to be in that form (repeated every two digits)?
Then theres a passphrase option. Does that become the default if I enable it?
I REALLY dont know what to do here. :confused
