What are you taking? Maybe you need to tell your doctor. Sometimes your body will reject different types of meds in different ways. I can't take codeine as I will upchuck it right back out. Be careful not to take certain meds that don't get a long as it can also cause a reaction like what you are experiencing and doctors don't always remember to tell you not to take them to closely together or to drink milk with them as to avoid an upset stomach. I have to do this for my meds. Hope everything is ok.

You need to see your doctor and tell them this! and ask them what the side effects are of your medication.

There should be a leaflet in the pack from the meds that will tell you the most common side effects,it's always worth a read.
I have two pain killing meds that i have to take every day or i am just a pile of:crap but they are both morphine based and pretty powerful so i had to work under the direction of my Doc, at first they made me very sick but slowly my body got used to them and now i am ok but i was working closely with my Doc until things settled down.
It's always worth a visit just to see that your body is not rejecting the meds.

Trust me, I know the feeling. After my operation, the pain was so intense, i took the pain killers and i felt like i was dying. My mom told me to get over it.

Dont wish to be rude and go against your mom, but as I work with experemental drugs in work I know that side effects, affect each patient differently and its important that you get expert advice.

Aimee, darling, you MUST, MUST, MUST see a medical practitioner. If your mother won't let you out to see a doctor, how about getting a doctor to make a home visit?
It's better to get at the root of the problem early than wait and suffer from potential complications later. Better safe than sorry.

Aimy, What are the names on the medicine bottles? and the pharmacy that you get your meds from? Maybe I can call the pharmacy and find out if your feeling the way you do has anything to do with the medications you are taking. You need some help to understand what is going on with your body. It won't cost me anything to call I assure you.

btw how long have you been taking these meds? If you don't mind me asking.

and hrlow is right what will she say?

She'll get upset because you have to pay for ambulance here.

I take risperidone, dexedrine, and synthroid.

If you don't call them yourself you don't pay, at least that's here.I think she would be upset later but I'm sure she would get over it as do we all . What milligrams are each and how many do you take a day? I can look it up and find out if one is counter reacting another causing problems. Are you still having the same symptoms and are they all the time or just intermittent?

Aimy I found some info but not quite what I'm looking for.I'll get back with you when I find it. One more question why are you on these types of meds. If you don't want everyone to know pm me.My step daughter is a registered nurse in a hospital in Ohio and I can get info from her on this. I'll tell you one thing though, These are some really heavy meds. Nothing to play around with.

I know what Risperidone is and what it is used for so it's time you found some help Aimee.
This is directly from the manufacturer

Check with your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:

Constipation; coughing; diarrhea; drowsiness; dryness of mouth; headache; heartburn; increased dream activity; increased length of sleep; nausea; sore throat; stuffy or runny nose; unusual tiredness or weakness; weight gain

    Synthroid

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with the use of Synthroid . Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Synthroid:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; flushing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); changes in appetite; changes in menstrual periods; chest pain; diarrhea; excessive sweating; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever; heat intolerance; joint pain; leg cramps; mental or mood changes (eg, anxiety, irritability, nervousness); muscle weakness; seizures; severe or persistent headache or fatigue; shortness of breath; stomach cramps; tremors; trouble sleeping; unusual weight gain or weight loss; vomiting; wheezing.

The Dexadrine is being used to counter act the other two and can be very addictive.

Because it is a stimulant, this drug has high abuse potential. The stimulant effect may give way to a letdown period of depression and fatigue. Although the letdown can be relieved by taking another dose, this soon becomes a vicious circle.

If you habitually take Dexedrine in doses higher than recommended, or if you take it over a long period of time, you may eventually become dependent on the drug and suffer from withdrawal symptoms when it is unavailable.

    Precautions:

    * This medicine may be habit-forming with long-term use.

I must caution all of you to be careful in what advise you give unless you are a MD, and even then, strict caution must be adhered to. This is not a forum of medical professionals and without knowing the patient history, not only from the patient herself but from her mother and those who have frequent contact with her IRL, we have very little to base "opinions" on.

Additionally, while medications serve a purpose, there are often side effects that dissipate once a person adjusts to them.

The medications listed in this thread are all meds that are prescribed where the patient is monitored through observation and/or routine labs to check the levels in order to adjust dosage as needed. They are also medications that are not prescribed without medical evidence as to the pros and cons of medical necessity.

If, as Amiee says her mother won't seek medical attention for her and she feels that strongly about needing it, than she needs to contact her local Child Protective Service via their toll free number or website, which can be done anonymously so that she can seek medical attention.

Also it must be considered the reason the medications are prescribed. It is quite possible that the side effects are highly exaggerated given Aimee's diagnosis, age, level of maturity, etc. It is also possible this is not the case. Either way, we cannot in good conscience give medical advise without knowing ALL the facts, which we do not have access to. And, even if we did, none of us are Dr.'s (except GK) so without actually being able to 'examine' the patient, review labs, history, etc. we cannot advise or assist except to suggest a viable alternative such as CPS.

Ok, allow me to step in. This thread will then be closed.

You can not leave the house, nor see a doctor, yet you have 3 prescriptions? Your lying. Not sure what about, but your lying. Doctors are not going to risk their license to prescribe multiple times over and over without ever seeing the patient. When they do, it is limited refills because you need to see the doctor regularly. You can't leave the house, but can use the internet without supervision? Unlikely.

We have spotted you on other forums and the disease you claim to have includes trouble interacting socially. This may explain the lies mentioned above. General message boards are a lousy place to go to if you can not socialize well. Oddly enough, you seem to be socializing just fine, with the exception of this thread.

We are all pretty laid back, understanding people but not fans of drama. This is drama and we can not be of help to you here. I also am not a fan of all the armchair doctors giving advice, so this thread can not end well for anyone. While people are trying to help, they are missing the big picture on this one. I would suggest you look up your specific problems and look for a support group online where you can get tried and trued advice from people who are suffering as you are.

We are always glad to discuss lifes problems, but you should find the proper support groups that would allow you to function on a daily basis. I saw someone admit to you on another forum they had the same problem as you, yet somehow no one knew.

Please look for the proper support groups for your problem and good luck. Hope you can stay on here at Majorgeeks as well!
