I'm having big time issues with this program and cannot rid it from my computer. It installed when I loaded up my Blackberry Desktop Manager software and now I can't get rid of it. Please see my previous thread in the software section here:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1367771#post1367771

At this point it's so persistent I'm labeling it spyware, because I can't get it off my computer. I tried using the uninstall tool mentioned in the previous thread and it seems to have taken Roxio EasyCD Creatoer off my computer but this damn Roxio Media Manager still lingers.

I cannot have it on my computer because when it installs, it crashes Windows Explorer every time I reboot my computer, upon which I have no icons and only my wall paper, and have to reboot into safe mode multiple times...

I'm running Windows XP.... I have absolutely no use for this program and everytime I try and use a program called CD Burner XP Pro (which is hosted on this site), my computer starts installing Roxio Media Manager... I've used CDBurnerXPPro many many times over the years and never had this issue with Roxio Media Manager trying to install when opening it until about a month ago... In control panel Roxio Media Manager is grayed out so I cannot remove it from there.

    I appreciate any assistance.

(Please Note: I'm not experiencing any malware/spyware issues on my computer so I did not run through the STICKY threads in this section. But I was not getting the assistance I needed in the software forum so I'm asking for the help of the experienced Malware fighters here. I do not have the advanced knowledge to remove linger software from my computer. Thanks)

I'm sorry but this is not a malware problem. You need to work this in the Software Forum or with Roxio. And note that the only way we could have helped you at all would be by seeing all the logs from the cleaning procedure. If you cannot uninstall it and want it gone, you will have to manually and forecfully remove it.

    Hi Chaslang,

I used to utilize this site 4-5 years ago and I know you bailed me out of 2 past spyware problems...

Are there designated Mods in the Software forum who are qualified to assist me in manually and forcibly removing this software from my PC? I think that's my only option at this point...

I haven't been around in awhile and I seemed to remember the Malware forum being the only forum with MG Appointed mods who were trusted enough to know what they were doing....

    Thanks for your input.

There are no moderators specifically designated to provide technical assistance in the Software Forum. You are at the mercy of those that have the knowledge and time to help you resolve your problem.

We are just too busy to work non-malware issues. Notice that it took me more than 3 days just to get back to your thread again. And the way things are building up with some recent new very nasty infections hitting the streets, I expect we may be 4 to 5 days behind very soon.

As a possible workaround that does not remove the program, see if you can use the below to locate it and disable it from loading:

    Autoruns
