Not ashamed to say 15, those were good times. Wait except for the wringer washers, actually I used a wash board too. Those were knuckle scrapers.
Got a picture of the Ole 49 Studebaker. Had to put in a center piece in order to play the 45 records. Those metal ice trays would stick to your skin.
Good times? What was I thinking? rolleyes

Well, you have your choice Hrlow2, it's either 'Night of the Living Dead,' which is better known as 'Stubby's Love Life,' or 'Grumpy Old Men' which pretty much explains the morning afterroflmao

14 out of 15 They didn't have the coffee shops with Jukebox out side where I lived. Wouldn't be there very long. Grow legs and walk off, if you get my drift.
Loved that bottled milk ,Studebaker had "Room" to actually stretch your legs and enough room for 2 kids to curl up on those long rides with out laying on top of each other.Yeah so I'm Older then really old dirt. Guess that's why I sit back and watch as well as laugh at those making the same errors as I did back in the days.Couldn't understand why adults would laugh when you feel out of a tree when I was little. I do now. 45's didn't have the plastic center piece to hold the record in place, set it on the turn table straight and put a penny or two on it worked like a charm.
Yeah they were good and some weren't so good.

@ TeeCee I remember Wriggly store. Can I come if I bring the Jiffy Pop Popcorn?:-D

I remember 9 and I'm only 29,is that a bad age to be now?I can't keep up,I don't mind telling people my age.

30 is the tipping point,in the UK army once you get over 30 you are allowed to do three press ups less than the younger guys and still pass not a good sign for things to come :-D

Are blue flash bulbs those you got in a strip of like 20 disposable flashes that plugged into your camera? If not I remember 8.

Yep, remember all 15.:-o Hey, whaddaya expect from a guy that's rumoured to be over 200 years old? (The Phantom) :p

I remember having to balance sixpence along to top slot of public telephones, (many people didn't have any telephone at home). When someone answered, you rolled the sixpence down the slot and into the phone. Then there was the 'push button A' then 'push button B' when party answers type.

  37. hrlow2

What about the old party=line phone system?
5-6 families having the phone ring at the same time and all answering at once in case it was for them?
Having to tell everybody else to get off the line when it was yours(and hoping they would).

We used to do back dialling, start at the zero push all the way to the start, then quickly, very quickly dial to the letters (YES LETTERS) in front of the right one, then the numbers. That way you could get through for nothing, we’d ring the zoo and ask for Mr C Lion, at Christmas we’d ring Oxford University and as for Jesus, then sing happy birthday to whoever answered. (Jesus College)

I RECALL (PHONE BOOTHS) actual booths with a seat, a glass folding door. It was like a molded surface, brown bumpy textured I used to rub my hand across which about gave my grandmother a heart attack thinking of all the people (San Francisco) who had touched it previously.

I also remember in the late 1940's going to the Saturday Matinee movies. All morning and afternoon - mostly serials and westerns. Cost all of 9 cents to get in and 5 cents for popcorn and 5 cents for a drink. My mom would give my twin brother and me a quarter each and we loaded up on junk all day.

Wild times. Hoppy, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Lash LaRue, Johnny Mack Brown, The Green Hornet, Flash Gordon, Charlie Chan, etc., etc., etc.

My ex got in for bottle caps. They were the grapes of wrath people, that was in California too, around picking camps I imagine.
