It is a day to rejoice for sure, Bill! LOL

I make them pose for Back to School pictures every first day of school. I think that might be cruel and unusual punishment on my part (especially for my 13 year old- she about bit my head off when I made her go outside to take the pic:-D) but it's fun.

That's awesome! Are you excited? Wait...aren't you in college (university)?

My kids would have loved going back a week later. As it is, it's sort of stupid that they are going back today. They have this Friday and next Monday off for Labor Day break.

Laura, you're a nut!roflmao However, I can picture you doing that, but there is only one thing missing....yeah, your camera so you can take pictures of those children's faces as you 'enjoy' the day:-D

:-D Thanks Stubby. Oh, I had my camera this morning. Torturing the kiddies with it even. *evil laugh*

    Me too, dar.

I think it's in the top 10 of best commercials ever!

Yes, I am taking a night class and Fred is only allowed inside when I am inside! :-D Fred went from separaton anxiety to straight up insane when left alone in the house. :tas

Oh wow... I don't even have kids, and I'm falling off my chair laughing. roflmao

A suggestion if I may, Laura...? Once they leave, get one of your favorite books, get that bottle of bubble bath that you haven't had a chance to use yet, fill your tub with hot water, and take one of those baths that last for so long that you need to let out some of the water and add more hot water at least twice because it has cooled off... They are especially pleasant with a glass of chilled white wine within easy reach. :cloud9

That all made me *sigh* just thinking about it, Mims. Sounds like heaven. Wish I would have thought about it this morning...maybe sometime this week.

Sadly, my day did not involve bubbles and wine. But I did have a beer later this evening while cooking dinner. LOL

@BOOM hahaha...I never saw that one. Not as good as the original, but pretty good. Although who knew Alice Cooper sold out for Staples. heh

Oh, Laura! I thought of more great stuff to do!

    1. After they leave for school, go back to bed and sleep for another couple of hours.

    2. Read your favorite book without fear of being interrupted.

    3. Spend hours wasting time on MGs

    4. Play all those new interesting games on your favorite flash game site

    5. Finally get that back yard flower bed done

    6. Get your errands done during the day without being rushed at all

I'll get back to you when I think of more things. :)

Yay...ideas! I need new ideas. LOL

*sigh* I'm always too awake by that time to do this, sadly.

I have not done this one while they were at school yet, but I plan to! I have 2 books on my Kindle waiting for me.

*snort* As if I don't do this one anyway. :-D

Done! Even have a couple of high scores.

It's getting cold out now. :(

Done. Went to the grocery store and leisurely went through ALL the aisles without kids saying when are we going to go or can I get this!

I didn't get my bubble bath yet, but did go in the hot tub yesterday morning for a bit before playing golf.

So far so good, other than the slight blowout with my 13 year old the afternoon after the first day.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Laura...let's not get carried away here:-D All those ideas that Mimsy sent you are great, but how about these?

    1. Do Laundry
    2. Clean bathrooms (toilets too!)
    3. Do Dishes from breakfast
    3. Mow the grass
    4. Make the beds
    5. Sweep and mop the floors
    6. Grocery shop
    7. Prepare the evening meal (NO Hamburger Helper!)
    8. Go to hardware store for new fridge filter (if you don't know how to install it, just ask Mimsyroflmaoroflmao)

I honestly didn't want to 'rain on your parade' Laura, but aren't you glad that you have friends like me to bring you back into reality:confusedroflmao Don't get me wrong, I love Mimsy to death, but I think she watches too many of those daytime commericalsroflmao

I had some friends long ago who moved away, When they came to visit their doctor gave them something to knock the baby out while traveling. I was horrified, baby wasn't even a year. :( Trip wasn't that long. I've often wondered how she turned out.

Well, the fact that Mimsy has no kids probably influences her imagination a little bit. ;)

Though I have to say, point 8 was quite awesome. roflmao

All the things you listed are things I get out of the way on weekends so I can have the week-day evenings all to myself, with my sexy and affectionate husband. I'm about to sign off so we can do a Star Wars marathon together, snuggling on the couch. :drool

And people wonder why I don't have children... LOL

Good point Darlene!! That would be yucky, huh?:-D
@Mimsy, as for not having children, no problem! You're still young and have plenty of time for that, if you decide too. I mean, we had our son when I was 50 and, no, I don't want to hear any cliches about 'snow on the roof, but a fire in the furnance!roflmao Lordy, I think I've heard them all:-D As for the Star Wars Marathon, is that the movie marathon, or is it when you play Princess Leia and your husband plays Hans Solo and he rescues you from Darth Vader:confused Now that's as far as I'm going with that!roflmao

What beats me is why kids don't want to go back to school after seven weeks off. Weeks three to six and three quarters are filled with, "I'm bored, there's nothing to do." Then week six and three quarters onwards is filled with "I don't wanna go back, I hate school :cry"

You doing a Tonyhale there, Stubby. All you got to do now is involve TeeCee and you got yourself a triple whammy. Happy days........:p
