I know some of you would say my kids are young now (11 and 13) :-D

I've just been thrown back into the years of 6 years olds. My neice and nephew (both 6) are here all weekend while their parents go away. You forget a lot! Like making sure they go in the right sex bathroom (my neice tried to go in the Men's room while we were out to dinner tonight).

Even my 13 year old was losing patience when my nephew was trying to make up the rules as they went when they were playing Uno. Okay, so maybe that has nothing to do with age. LOL

Oh, and you should have heard the banshee screech my neice laid out when her brother turned on the ceiling fan in the room where they are sleeping! You'd have thought she had never seen a fan before.

Me thinks it's going to be a long one.

Oh your in for an exciting weekend Laura ;)

I get the same when my two neices stay who are 7 and 9, as Brad (Mankind) will know I coined them "insurgents" or "Chaos and Mayhem" as its like a warzone!! Just a good job I did when they where young subject them to playing with PCs and they are both very good on a computer, so having 2 laptops in the house keeps them quiet.... for a while.

So you have fun or palm them off on your 11 & 13yr olds :)

All I can say or add is, enjoy those rascals while they are young, because before you know it, they will be getting married and leaving. But then, they'll bring the grandkids around and it all starts over again.

hahahaha....hmm. That makes me think I should introduce them to the joy of PC games. I think I may have a few old ones from when my kids were this age.

Hubby and I are going to a party tonight, as the new dress and SHOES (<---for the girls on the forum) can attest to. I'm pawning them off on my kids. :-D

Oh, I know. It's already happening with mine.

This morning, I fed them Captain Crunch. I had forgotten to get milk. Of course they wanted milk, so off to the convenience store I go at 7 in the morning. Just me and the hunters. I get home and am informed by my niece that I got the wrong milk. HER mom gets the one with the red cap....not the green. LOL

Awww....what gorgeous girls. :) They look like angels with that blond hair.

Yep. I stopped working when I had my kids. Thought I'd go crazy at first and starting looking for another job. I never did go back and haven't regretted it.

It's just amazing how much you forget though. There is a HUGE difference between my self sufficient 11 and 13 year olds that I can leave home alone and my sister's two 6 year olds, though. LOL

Digital they are gorgeous and chip sandwiches are a small price to pay for being home with them.

I was in the military when mine came along so i spent a lot of time away and later i started my own trucking company so it was more of the same.
If i had my time again i would definitely do it differently.

    Precious Digital :)

Are they twins Laura? Self sufficient at 11 and 13? wow think my girls were in their twenties :-D
I don't even have grandchildren that young any more. They range from 9 to 28.
Just think how relaxed you'll be when they are gone LOL

They were adopted. They are a month apart.

lol...self sufficient is all relative. Mine can stay home by themselves, get themselves drinks, fix their own lunches. I'm thinking your meaning of self sufficient is different than mine. LOL

Beautiful girls there Digital! You have every reason to be proud;) Like you, I am a 'house dad' and I wouldn't trade it for the world either. Sometimes though, I wished I was behind the wheel of my rig, but then if I was, I would have missed out on so much. Well, if you'll excuse me, I have some dishes to finish washing and I really need to get the laundry doneroflmaoroflmao
