I have a few years old Dell Latitude D600 Laptop. It has a problem like wont boot up on pressing the on button. The on button illuminated but the computer just didn't load up. The 3 keyboard status lights and power light, harddisk light will be on for 2 3 seconds and then nothing. It some times boot up after loots of try. Can any one help? The battery and power supply are good. Could a reserve battery can cause this problem?

Sounds like a possible short or something is having issues.

    HI

Possible the BIOS battery could cause this and not easy to change on a laptop as they are mostly hardwired in and not the CR2032 that desktops have, but also double check that the RAM and HDD are firmly plugged in.

Take the battery out and see if it works with it just plugged into the adapter.

If not, possibly a faulty power regulator.
