A Golden Era Comes To An End

Today is a sad, sad day. The most entertaining and hilarious MMO I have ever come across, Dungeon Runners, has officially been canceled by NCSoft.

The official announcement promises that anyone who is a paying member as of today, September 16th, will receive free digital copies of "City of Heroes: Architect Edition" and of "Guild Wars Prophecies", as well as a 30-day game time serial code. In addition to that, anyone who purchased a multi-month membership that extends beyond New Years will receive a full refund of the left-over part. And they are going out in style. Increased mythic drops, quintupled exp rates, and lots of other good stuff.

They may be bastards, but at least they aren't cheap bastards.

But still... Dungeon Runners has been canceled. I am sad. I am also not playing it tonight, or for the next week, at least. No way I'm going on the members-only server until the initial rage has simmered down!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I will have a quiet drink in honor of my favorite MMO and the greatest posse in Townston, the Mad Cap Warriors. May Gosh bless us all, and may Geebus never be forgotten.

I never played games until my lovely grandson gave me a game called Prince of Persia. I had a go but it kept hanging up, then recently I won some cash and bought a Gforce 9400 card managed to install it and tried the game again, didn’t hang up this time, but it’s a bit tedious, jumping around and killing people, so I was wondering if there is anything a little more mentally challenging out there? I would be delighted if you could help Mims,

Yeah, apparently NCsoft has been feeling the pinch of the recession for a while now, with cut-backs going on for some time. Guess the free and nominal pay service had to bite the dust sooner or later. Ah well, on to other things.

Hi Mimsy, this game looks like Runescape perhaps that may help yiur withdrawal from DR.

 

Um... no. I tried Runescape and it was no fun at all. I will move to Guild Wars when DR closes.

Thank you very much for the link, I had played of some of games, like Monkey Island, Duke Nukum, and Vikings, at work when I was supposed to be monitoring machine breakdowns. Couple of questions would it help to get dosbox, what the hell is a patch? And forgive an old and confused soul :-D what s RPG mean.
