Damn right that's how we do it in this country! The best Airforce in the world and we can have a laugh whilst doing it too :p

Okay, I've got to admit that the Brits do add some style to launching jets, but the Germans(?) have them beat when it comes to landing them!! From what I understand, this video is from the German 'Stop The Plane' school, where volunteers learn how to stop the bigger jets on short runways. It looks like a great profession, but I wonder how they fair against the full-sized jets:confusedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6suhk7hMNs&feature=related I know I've showed this video before, but it seems to fit right in here:-D

LoL!.....I think he'd be a bit squished even if it was a Piper light plane, much less a 747. Reminds me of the great model helicopter I had, until I got a bit carried away with the height, and chopper met tree. Tree=1 : Chopper=0, :cry(trashed).

Yep, and the best Navy, commandos, etc., i.m.ho.;)

Our pilots are up there with the best in the world but our airforce is a little behind, the US's stealth planes could come in and destroy our planes while they are still on the ground and we still wouldn't know where the bombs had come from.

Even our new Eurofighter typhoon wouldn't last long in a dogfight with the new stealth F-22 raptor.

Hard to shoot at something that you can't see.

You won't find them on your radar because they have been turned into mobile phones or are in hangers:-D It was retired last year.

It flew using complete fly by wire controls the only reason it became possible to make an aircraft of that design was due to the advent of flight control computers, its aerodynamically unstable so the airframe is always trying to move one way or the other, the flight computer makes hundreds of tiny aileron adjustments every second to keep it flying straight and level if the computer broke down it would just fall from the sky.

The B2 spirit is exactly the same, without a computer it wouldn't fly.

Just goes to show you how much I know about our own Air Force:-o I didn't know they retired the F-117. However, with those flight characteristics, it's amazing they lasted that long! Oh well, long live the F-22:-D
