    Friends computer.
Can access Control Panel and Properties on desktop.
    Safe Mode scans with:
Malware Bytes, Ad Aware, Spy-bot, and Avast A/V.
Updated data bases in Normal Mode before scanning in
    Safe Mode.
Removed Rogue Installer and the usual cookies / cache / junk.

Tried to install Zone Alarm in Normal Mode.
Received message that program needs Admin Rights
    to continue installation.
Admin rights no longer enabled on his account (Administrator-type)
    and the Windows Admin account.
Created a new Administrator account for myself for testing
    purposes.
It also has Admin rights disabled.
Cleaned registry with JV16 Power Tools and Crap Cleaner

Before I dig for all his pictures and music to put on DVD and reload
the OS (XP), is there a setting in the registry that the Rogue Installer
    might have changed?

When I Googled this issue, most solutions start with
"If you've lost Admin rights and you cannot access the Control
    Panel or the desktop properties..."
Took a shot and tried the possible solutions.
    No luck.

So, can anyone maybe keep me from having to reload (or at the
    very least, repair) the OS?
I'm no stranger to the Registry.
Just never ran across this type of problem before.

    Thank you )

    Hello mrparrot92064

    Have you tried looking in:
Control Pannel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
Use the tree to find Local users & groups & goto Users.
In the window you should see Admin at the top... Right-click, then properties & uncheck "Account is disabled".
    I hope this helps.

Google has 330,000 results for "Rogue Installer".
Perhaps you missed one ! !

I note that Rogue Installer not only tries to get you to buy it,
it also incorporates other malware that it promises to remove.

I have not seen a definitive list of incorporated malware because my patience was exhausted after looking at the first 2 results out of 330,000.
I suspect that if there was such a list it would soon be out of date.

    Alan
