Yup Laura, most of my online forums judgments are made in under 5 posts and very often by just their first post, be it good or bad. The bad ones are very easy to spot.:-D The written word strips away any distracting factors and as long as the reader of said does not bring their own baggage to interpret such. That's how a hissy fight starts.

I remember my first post in software. Man did that get WAAAAYYYYY off the subject and crazy rolleyes. MA had to step in and close it out:major:mad. After he said how off and confusing it got I looked back at it and agreed 120% :-o rolleyes LOL I guess that's why I don't get my answer right away:-D jk
Personally it really doesn't bother me one way or another what people think of me as I don't have to live with them nor they me.

 

I hit that point about five years ago, and it's FABULOUS! With me, what you see is all there is to see. I have too much other stuff to deal with to worry about what people think of me, even if I really do know them. The ones I care about know me, and they accept me with all my flaws.

And --- that was my point. Even though I stepped on some toes and defended an unpopular position (which I will still aggressively defend, By The Way :guns :boxing :major) I "made nice" with ya'll, even befriending Rikky! :eek :-D

Point is - just because the cover is rough, doesn't mean the pages are well read. I truly love the camaraderie here and I love you guys enough to show that even though my initial comments appeared to be knuckle-dragging, I was saying them in love. And it's cool that I seem to have started the :strong (Prayer Warrior) thing that TeeCee and others have picked up and that it works!

OK -- I've rambled enough, carry on with the thread. :-o :-D

 

Hey PapaD! Those prayer warriors :strong have gone a long way, and done hopefully a lot of good for a lot of people.. I did not know you started it, my friend, that is cool! :celebrate I picked some up off a smiley website I sent to the gal we sent the hats too... She enjoys them still... Well, I haven't made anyone mad at me that I know of, yet. I don't set about winning any popularity contests. Most people are pretty good to chat with. I'm long past caring wether I please everybody, if I ever did. That said, my life's more than a little richer for bring here that not, I'm sure.

Guess that's one advantage of Forums. You can either join and hopefully contribute, or ignore it and move on. Just the flow of different ideas and perspectives from around the globe is pretty interesting, i.m.o. I don't come across too many true 'Trolls' these days, mainly because the forums so well moderated. The few that I have encountered, I just think to myself "Whatever dude", and progress elsewhere to talk to a more sentient life form.

For me, it boils down to liking everyone I've met here on the forums so far. Sure, I've had a few disagreements with a few of you, right Rikky? And MA? Still, if we were all the same, with the same thoughts and ideas, this would be one boring place and not near as popular as it is. As for meeting someone from here. Well, remember all those cards some of you sent with your return addresses on them, huh? Now, you don't really think that Zach was collecting those postcards for nothing, do you? See, I'm going back home to Lancaster, PA next summer for a visit and I'm planning my route to coincide with, well we don't need to get into that right now, do we:confused Just let me say that if you see a gold Chrysler Pacific or a silver Mercedes pull into your driveway, all I can say is PUT A LOCK ON THE FRIDGE!!
