   is it possible to write a program that can install to the bios or mbr that would survive a reformat? i trying to be able to find back my laptop if stolen, not for virus reasons.

   I know of lojack for laptops but i am not in the US and as a result i would like to run it to my own servers through the net, hence my idea for doing it this way.
