problem with usb flash

hi guys...

i have a serious problem and i hope for your help...

i just bought a usb flash transcend jf v85 - 8gb...

and it has trend micro usb antivirus...

unfortunately, i can't do anything.... it says that my disk has write protection...

but no switch, no software...

any ideas??? thanks in advance

and also i just bought this....it's not possible to have to do all this just to add files in it....

maybe i must take it back... what do you say?

 

Have you formatted it ?? you will lose the AV but that should do the trick.

Step 2 Override password security. If your flash drive has password security, but you have forgotten the code, you can try to override the security feature by going to the Start menu and selecting "Run." A dialogue box will pop up, into which you should type in the path to the file on the USB drive you want to access. Note: This only works on USB drives with very simple security. If the security is complex, this will not work.

So you say it formatted completely and still no go. One last try, go to Control Panel/Admin Tools/Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management then right click on Big area of drive and Format there. If this doesn't do it My guess is that its locked itself Permanantly as below.But others may have suggestions

i can't do a simple format....

Ah well if its still under gaurentee I would return it, but can I suggest that you say that you had not fiddled with it like formatting etc. Play the Dumbo as I know some of these companys try to shift blame to purchaser at the earliest oppurtunity.

 

believe i am very good with computers, but this case....it's very strange....i believe it has problem....
