validity of win xp pro product key

all of the threads that I could find that deal with product keys, seem to involve finding the product key in an existing install.

I am wondering if there is an app or site or something where I can type in a product key and find out if it is a valid product key before I begin my install. Ex bought some win xp pro disks from a site, and they are in white envelopes with product keys typed on labels...

Any help?

I think your ex got taken by crooks. The product key would be found on a COA sticker.

 

Um... yeah... I had already figured that part out, about the ex that is.

Unfortunately, I thought I had stated that the only thing I have is a disk and a white envelope with a printed label containing nothing except for the product key. I didn't get a COA... therefore this link doesn't help in the least. Thank you for trying though.

 

I collect old towers, but I don't have any XP Pro keys, just Home Edition, but I'll double check tomorrow morining.
