Help with firewalls and reliable programs

I have like several firewalls on my computer but i disabled some of them them. I have AVG, McAfee security center(from comcast),comodo, and windows defender. I heard it is bad to have more than one firewall, so I uninstalled AVG, I still have McAfee installed and I'm still using it, i have comodo the free vision( i never installed it and i just have the set up), and turned of windows defender. I was doing my daily scan with Avg and found a back door trojan, I had problems removing it so i used McAfee, but i read a lot of people say to use comodo in articles with the back door trojan. I'm not sure which one is reliable and i need help choosing on which one i should stick with. So far AVG was working well, until i had a problem with removing the back door trojan, and McAfee works great, but i still feel unsafe. Which one should i stick with?

AVG is not a firewall, it is an antivirus program unless you have a full security suite installed that included a firewall. Either way you MUST NOT even install multiple antivirus programs or firewalls or security suites at the same time. It does not matter whether you say you disabled them or not because you cannot fully disable them and having them installed messes up Windows Security Center and causes conflicts between the programs and actually reduces the effectiveness of any one of them.

You would be best served by uninstalling EVERY thing you have installed and then rebooting and reading and following the below.

Neither McAfee nor AVG are perfect but AVG may be a better choice than McAfee if you are trying to compare.
