A Fine Frenzy

I'm going to PHILADELPHIA to see A Fine Frenzy in concert on 10/30!!!

Move over Tom Petty, this board is about to change direction!! LOL j/k

They're playing at World Cafe Live which is awesome, it looks more like a bar than it does somewhere you'd go to see a concert. I've always wanted to go to something like that, and at the moment, A Fine Frenzy is my favorite band. Tickets where only $20 or so a piece too, so you can't really beat that.

I've posted some songs in the thread here, but you guys should check them out, they're number one on some of the charts, some pretty impressive numbers.. as many followers on twitter as people like Brittany Spears..

I'll admit that I've never heard of 'A Fine Frenzy,' which should be no surprise coming from someone still stuck in the 'KISS' era,:-o but if she sings as good as she looks, it sure wouldn't hurt to come out of my shellroflmao Enjoy the show Pax

 

I think you can download the whole new CD from either amazon or itunes for $3.99 at the moment. She does sing well, but I think you have to be ready for it, not something everyone is going to like all of the time. It's great music though. Youtube is your friend.

Okay Pax, I went to my 'friend,' Youtube, and listened to some of her music, and I honestly enjoyed it. You're right, it's not something I'd listen to all the time, but if you need to 'mellow out' her music would be good to go with And she's not hard on the eyes either:-D Thanks Pax!

A Fine Frenzy

Seriously, how many times in your life to you have a favorite artist / actor / author, etc. and get to take pictures and shoot video like this?

I have a couple videos I shot. I might put them on youtube so I can share them here, but for now, one is on my myspace page. I'll have to make some time, if I am going to upload something like that, probably doesn't happen in the blink of an eye.

What a weekend, saw the sites in Philly too. I even tweeted: "Just saw the Liberty Bell... Still cracked." LOL :-D

 

I just listened to "Ranger". Incredible. I think I've seen A Fine Frenzy on my daughter's playlist. She's into a lot of female Indie artists and such. Not what I usually listen to either. Thanks Paxton.

Thank you sibeer. A Fine Frenzy seems like an indie band, but I'm almost positive they're signed to Virgin. Rangers is one of my preferred songs, along with Electric Twist, Almost Lover, Blow Away... I guess to be fair, I like it all just about equally.

I just ordered a Christmas CD of theirs from Target, it's exclusive to them, 3 classics, and 3 AFF originals. I think they're the real deal, and hope that they stay on top of their game for a long while. I had too many interested, and too few tickets to the show, Looks like I have to go to another one!

Have your daughter look Tegan & Sara up if she's into indie females, chances are she knows who they are. If not, you might score points. LOL

Laura! That's cool about the author. I ran into Gwen Stefani from No Doubt at one of her shows a long time ago. She wasn't as nice as this woman, she'd already gotten super famous, and I think it ruined her.

Pretty sure you're thinking about a different bell though.

Pearl Jam was in town the same weekend as the concert I went to, plus the World Series, Terror Behind the Walls... Man, what a busy city.

I remembered you said that when I was at the concert sitting at my table. One of the people I was with asked what her music was like, and I said.. I don't really know how to explain it, I just think she's attractive, I came to take pictures of her. He laughed out loud.

The concert was amazing, I'm glad I had a good time too. I walked about 20 minutes from where I was staying, to get to the concert. Probably saved time over parking somewhere.

That was the best setting I've ever seen a show in. Every band that played, went out and talked to people, sold their own merchandise & signed anything you wanted. They all talked like normal people, it was awesome.

I hope they come either closer, or to Philadelphia again. I'd go see them alone if I had to. At least there, I can stay somewhere free. Closer, and I could drive it.

I gotta give her one thing....the girl IS good I only hope that her success doesn't spoil her, like it does some people, like 'No Doubt,' which you mentioned. Good video, thanks Pax, I enjoyed it I wonder if she'll ever make it to the 'Deep South?' Like Mississippi or any other of the neighboring states? Of course, if she did, I'd go but I wouldn't watch her, but rather listen to her music.......yeah, right:-D

 

Not on this tour Stubby, just checked the bands myspace page. They might have been there earlier in the year, they've been on the road since September. They're touring with a band whose singer is from Mississippi, so for them not to have been there wouldn't make a lot of sense. I mentioned ordering the Christmas CD the other day & I just found this one youtube:

I don't know what it is really about the band, but I haven't found a song yet that I'd skip on a CD. It seems this song is from a Starbuck's CD in 2007 & they had a song in Dan in Real Life. I have to go look into that.
