ASRock ConRoe 1333-D667 board question

Hi I have the ASRock board in the title I can not seem to get the microphone to work off either the front or back panel, it has on board Realtec audio. I have looked in the bios to see if I could find anything and also in the Realtec audio manager, in the manager it shows the mic as inop. I reloaded the Realtec software with no change! Sound works fine, any ideas appreciated!!!

XP:

Open up Windows Volume Control and make sure "Rear Pink IN is not muted, click on the advanced button here and select Microphone Boost.

Good to see it sorted. A geek told me this 2 years ago and all I am doing is passing on that good advice.

 

have tried going in bios and changing it from AUTO to MANUAL this sometimes resolves this issue you are getting.
