All you folks here have always done me good , so here I am again. ~smile~
    So, here it goes,
I purchased Snowflake Pro and was assured in writing that I could put it on up to 5 of my personal computers. Well, I really wanted it on my laptop but I figured that I could put it on up to 5 of my personal 'puters so I originally put it on my home pc, and then from there put it on my laptop.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this.
I've e-mailed the man several times and have heard zilch. I've tried different addys for him. Nothing. I'm seriously thinking about sending him a registered/certified letter. Whatever good that would do.
On my big pc (that has the application on it) I tried mailing this thing to myself so that I could pick it up on my laptop. All I could get was the page that had the spot that I click on for download and when I do that I get the (run, save, cancel) I have tried the run and it just disappears. The save does the same.
Is there any way that I can share between the two 'puters and get it to my laptop that way? I don't have any kind of a 'jump cable' , in case would be one way of doing it..
I'm not very good at this at all. My laptop is a new Toshiba running Vista until I get the free version of 7 and the big home one is a 5 yr old HP running Windows XP.
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. It's drivin' me 'almost' nutso.

Did you get a cd or is it downloaded? If you have a CD, just pop it into each computer you want to install it on. if you downloaded it, you should have downloaded a .exe file that you ran to install the program. copy that .exe file over to each computer you want to install the program on.

Also, when you save downloads on vista, they should be located in Start - Click on your name up by your picture in the start menu - windows will pop up with some folders. the one you want is downloads. Your download should be in that downloads folder.

x2, this is the only way that you can do it unless the original program does not have an installer. If no installer is available on the software, moving the fold to another computer is where it's at. Works for very old software but the newer stuff usually has the installers.

    Good luck.

I really appreciate you guys replying to my query, thanks.
I said it was an application but it was a program.
Here's what happened. I bought it over the internet and it came up on a page and I clicked here and clicked there and it downloaded onto my computer.
In the hype page that got me going on it in the first place it mentioned that I could put this on 5 of my own home computers. And, that if anyone had any problems that they could reach him at a certain e-mail addy.
Well, I got it downloaded on my 'puter and ok I was happy with it for the $20 that I paid instead of the $100 that it usually went for.
But when I e-mailed the fella to ask him just how do I get it on my laptop.....nothing. I waited a day and wrote again. Nothing. Then I started thinking that either there was some things that this guy had to take care of and he would either get back to me or he would have someone else picking up his e-mail, because after all this is his business. Nothing.
I've saved the pages that it took to download in the first place and tried to send them to my e-mail so I could pick it up on the laptop. I did get them on the laptop but when I tried to go through the steps to download it....nothing.
Hmmm, so my hubby went and got me a flash drive. I have never seen, touched or used a flash drive before. But, I did get the 'program' onto it and tried from there to put it on my laptop. It made it almost all the way through but lo and behold....nothing that I could use.
And then again I've e-mailed the fella ....and you can guess...nothing.
SO, I just figure that I am gratefull that I didn't spend that $100. Whew! And I do have it on home 'puter. eh. So when I go to write on the novel that I am writing, when I need that info. I sit at the home 'puter and have my laptop on a stool next to me and do what I need to.
Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions! :clap I really appreciate it.
I'm going to take another stab with the flash drive thingy and see if I can't get it to possibly miracullesly work. Cross you fingers for me eh.
    Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!:)

Sounds like you have some questionable software company that ytou bought software from. It happens to the best of us.

So, what is the software for and what does it do? There is enough freeware that I would think that there is something out there that might do exactly what you want it to do.

It's a more or less a template on how to 'grow' characters and how to make an outline so that you can follow some kind of 'path' that you've set for yourself....pretty much just organization that I got tired of dealing with spiral notebooks with.
It was originally $100 and he had an 'amazing' $20 sale for 3 or 4 days. I looked at what there was to offer and I liked it and felt that it would do me some good and get me away of trying to organize those different colored tab thingies to try to keep some organization and guidance to what I'm trying to achieve.
Is it worth the $20? Hmmm, yes
