Spybot Search & Destroy hangs

Hi all-

I was running some routine maintenance on my parents PC over the Thanksgiving holiday. As per your instructions here, I have installed SpyBot/AdAware/SpyBlaster/Crap Cleaner to keep the PC running smooth.

When running Spybot, I noticed a warning for "Smithfraud-C.gp" and a "DSSAgent". I went into McAfee and deleted quarantined files. I then started going thru the MALWARE removal instructions you guys have provided. I've run 2 of the scans, SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes, and then reran the Spybot scan.

The "Smithfraud-C.gp" warning is now gone but I still show the "DSSAgent". What is strange is that the Spybot scan completes but I cannot do anything after that for removal. The "fix selected problems" button just hangs when I click on it.

I'm not sure if the warning is "harmful" but it shows as: DSSAgent (SBI $BF58EA32) Global settings - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Broderbund software\dss

Should I continue to run the MALWARE removal? I got to the Combofix instructions and those threw me off....I'm not a total PC expert and I was scared off by some of the warnings in the instructions.

I know everyone's time here is limited.........any insight is much appreciated by the hardworking staff here.
