CRC corruption + Freeware Rar Recovery

    I have downloaded a file in different separate rar files. When I try to assimilate it I get a CRC corruption message.

    Is there such a thing as a Freeware program which will recover the uncorrupted parts of the different rar files and/or identify the corrupted file/sub-portion(s)?

    Try this http://www.majorgeeks.com/Recuva_d5514.html its a free data / file recovery tool that also tells you what files are good and which are bad there mihgt be others but this is the one i recommend ! You could always wait and see if anyone else suggests anything better ! ;)

    Hi

    Sadly you will have to try the download again as once a compresses file is corrupt its corrupt no recovery app will rebuild the damaged parts. If the same source of the download has a corrupted file then you will have to locate another source of the file.

    "Rared", as in compressed? I tried this program and it worked! :) Tremendous. Does this mean that there was no error and it was just the Rar version causing the problem? Or does UE negate such errors?

    I assume that the file was rared/compressed using a different version than you are using and had some sort of hiccup when trying to uncompress.
    If I get an error, before I download again, I try Universal Extractor to see if that will uncompress it; most times, it does.
