    Hi Guys,

What are some fail safe christmas Gifts? The only one I can think of is box of chocolates or a bottle of wine/champagne?

But even then, some people don't eat or drink either of them, so in a way it's not fail safe.

    What are your thoughts?

I am pretty sure that no matter what you got someone they should always know it came from you and it came for a reason. Maybe write them something about how much they did and helped you through these times your going through and heres a small gift of appreciation.

It helps to know what the person in mind likes...

I heard this funny story of my teacher who got this super-high-tech device for his son. His son looked at it and moaned. "Ürgh. Another iPod."

Anyway, a nice, shiny, preferably working pen or a good book would probably be great. Or socks. Nice, warm socks.

I'll have to go with Sgt. Tibbs on this one... Nice, green cash goes with everything, and is always in style, and everybody likes it. Never needs to be returned, either! LOL

While cash is great, to me it is not needing any forethought in being creatively festive.. can give cash all year round, yes I do give cash as not a failsafe but as sone folk are hard to buy for or I just know they are saving up for something more expensive.

Think a failsafe is person specific, just depends on what they like, a freind of mine loves music so at a push when other ideas have run out a iTunes card is good, but could equally be a gift card for their favorite shop etc

Or failing all that SOCKS :)

When the Grandkids were little, we used to start Christmas shopping for them in October. A real hassle. Try to project to January and get the right sizes in clothes etc. because they grow so fast. Now they are between 10 and 15 years old and all they want is CASH. The same goes for their parents (our kids). Cash is the safest present. All I do now is buy 10 money Christmas cards and put new money in each one. :-D

Well, those people who turn their noses up at presents, (usually spoiled kids of friends and whatnot), I probably don't like them enough to care whether they like their present or not.;)

I know a all round(ish) present, that fits any price bracket...

    Lotto tickets!

Spend a bit of time finding relevant numbers to make it personal and decide how much they deserve spending on them.

I've done it a few times as my family is huge, i would be broke if i spent proper money on all of them.

But it is only suitable for the adults obviously, and dont get your uncle with the gambling problem one!

[dot forget to write in the back of the card "if you win big remember who bought the ticket for you eh!]
