Buffer overrun

Hi folks
Tho i've just registered, ive been an active user of this site for a long time, and can usually find a fix for any problems ive had, but this one is new to me.
The last couple of days when ive tried to use my Paint Buster programme, i get Buffer overrun detected message.
Ive had this programme for several years, so i;m guessing i picked up some sort of mischief while doing my christmas shopping. It doesnt seem to affect anything other than this one programme. (Im running vista home premium and well sometimes it hard to tell if things are running as they should lol)
I did run malware bytes which found a bunch of tracking cookies, and spybot which didnt find anything.
any help and or advice is most appreciated.

knowing how busy you folks are i did some sniffing around various places and was able to fix this myself
