    Hello,

I was directed here by "chaslang" over in the "Malware Removal Forum". He believes that my remaining problems are NOT spyware/virus related. With that said I have attached my "Event Viewer" System & Application logs (see below) as well as described to the best of my ability the problems I am experiencing. And thank you in advance for any and all help as this has been most frustrating...

Despite using Avant, K-Meleon, Explorer, Firefox...they all crash in one way or another over and over again??? For example, the browser may just abruptly shut down (which is most frequent) or repeatedly crash upon opening or I may get a "Not responding" or a "Memory error at line so and so" or in Explorer it might cycle through "Tab recovered" numerous times again or my computer may just become unresponsive all together or will post an "Out of memory" alert. I also get "Done with errors" and "Done" with an exclamation mark or just a "blank page" or "Application failed to initialize" or "Paging file too small" or "Failed to create empty document" etc. These errors and warnings are frequent and some of them also occur in the general Windows XP environment as well as with other software.

Lastly, my computer has 768MB of Ram and I have Virtual Memory set to 1.5x that. In addition the Processor is an AMD Athlon XP 2000+(1.67GHz). Not sure if that is helpful or not. If there is any other information that would be useful please let me know. Thanks to everyone again...

Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Cwshredder, A-Squared, ATF, CCleaner, Aswcleaner, Kill2Me & Combofix.

OK then. But you also need a firewall...

Problem solved! Here is what I did:

Manually rebuilt Registry using this guide:
    http://www.aitechsolutions.net/winxpnoboot.html

Removed every instance of Firefox using this article:
    http://blog.techdreams.org/2007/08/how-to-uninstall-firefox-completely-and.html

    Ran:
    chkdsk: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265/en-us
    scannow: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747/en-us
Windows Live OneCare Safty Scanner - http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

Thanks! Cordialis & Gloozit!! - I really appreciate it!

If the OP or any user has any advice as to what the solution is, it'd be much appreciated. I've run CCleaner on a few PC's as "maintenance" before I discovered that they really don't do much, and could cause more harm than good. I'm getting errors in my event logs that log almost exactly like the attachments, specifically the system log. Thanks.

    Huh?

Don't you read well? The OP"s solution was the last post before yours ...

I've only had 2 occasions when Ccleaner MAY have been implicated with causing any problems, each time it was with Windows 98 machines and 'losing' the volume control, I never followed either up fully so I'm not completely sure Ccleaner was to blame. Normally, it does a fine job of what it was created to do.

If you are having problems, please create a new thread instead of hijacking another.

    Welcome to the forum :)
