been thinking on doing SMP and have been offered an old duel server board complete w/P3 933Mhz cpu's.

Would this do the bigadv WU's? [I'm sure it would take much more time to finish]

    I'm afraid not noprob.:-o
I'm running the Core i7 920 with hyper-threading enabled to get all 8 logical cores engaged. It's 24/7 at 100% across the 8 cores and there is a 4 day deadline to get the points. Besides this, I'm running the Ubuntu 9.04 linux client under VMPlayer which is more efficient than the Windows client.

I am in hopes one day to do the SMP WU's,though it looks like the bigadv are out of the question for now.

    I remember starting Folding@Home back in 2004 using a 733Mhz cpu/computer.

This folding has come a long way concerning technology.

I thank you for your reply.

    Welcome to the Fold blatherbeard

I linked your stats via your name/handle

Not official as they are behind imo by 3 hours, but it does give you and idea of your production.

    official stats here

Hehehe, don't worry about it. ;) Let's just say that lbmest has the latest hardware and is using it to full advantage with beta clients that need a more extensive setup command line setup.

Just less bonus points as opposed to some other folders who OC everything (including the kitchen sink.;))

If you have any questions, start up a new thread and somebody will try to get you the answer. First thing to look at would be the type of hardware you are running. This would determine what client or mix of clients to get the best PPD (Points Per Day).

They aren't official but they do use the same information as Stanford.
EOC updates every 3 hours as opposed to Stanford updating every hour.

blatherbeard don't let augie fool you. He may not have the most up to date hardware but but he gets a heap of points out of what he does have. I'm just trying to catch up to his production.
By the way augie, Micro Center is selling i7 920 for 199.99. That's a sweet price.:-D

    Nice folding lbmest

I have an i7 950 and will try bigadv when i put some more ram in (i have only 4 gb ) as it needs 6gb to run efficiently.

Why thanks for the compliment.:) I don't remember which video card you have but with you now getting the bonus points, I'll just be a dust cloud in your mirror as you pass me by.:-D:wave:cool

Oh just shut up man!:p:-D $350 for a D0 up here but it depends on the stepping. I'll get there sooner than later.;)

:major Those are some mighty fine points / production lbmest ! :major

compared to GPU folding how are the temps, doing the -bigadv WU(s) with the SMP client?

Temps are great on the CPU. :-D
Comp has essentially been pegged at 100% with either 4 notfreds or -bigadv units since November and cores are high 50's or low 60's C. There is a spread of 2 to 3 degrees C for the cores.
Both vid cards are pegged out also. (Pair of EVGA GTX 260-216 Superclocked)
First at 1620 shaders is in the mid 60's C.
Second at 1584 is in high 50's C. Both are at 65% fan manual control. Hopefully the second card will be at 1620 shaders in the next day or 2.:major
