Did you have anything in particular in mind? Life experience is as widely varied as lives led, so it's hard to pick something in particular without a small nudge in the desired direction.

Oh my, mine could fill a book at my age, feels more like three lives.
I always told my children to treat people the same way you would want to be treated, same thing told to me, be truthful, honest (not everyone wants to hear that) but not to the point of being rude.
Other then that, everyone has to find their own path. Good luck on your journey :wave

I'm sorry, but you're just not making sense to me. The essence of my experiences would fill a book. You say you have something particular in mind...care to share with the class?

You are the sum of your experiences.....Life is a journey, not a destination. It is usually upon one's death bed that the question comes up. Or ( for those so inclined ) upon facing God. As they say, sometimes you get the bear....sometimes the bear gets you. Other peoples experiences are their own.....you will create your own to learn from. Or not. ;)

My experience and interpretation of life(Although I am 19..So I would seem silly talking like this) is that this is a short life and there are many things to do... Marriage is a gate to the new life(I have heard this but not experienced as I am unmarried).... We make many friends in life... some of them care for us, some leave us, some don't remember us..... we come across many people in life from whom we learn a lot...our parents care us a lot... specially mother...But there are some bad people who don't care for their parents once they become something in life..Still then, the parents give good prayers to their children .. We came across different types of people in our life.. each one of them has their own interpretation of life and each one has his/her own attitude... So life is a learning process..

The experience of finding the toilet seat up or down is an experience that depends who you are. My Wife gets upset if she finds the seat up. However, I don't. I told her that if the seat is up when you see it, put it down. I on the other hand finding the seat down will simply put it up. It's like the yin and yang.

In those terms I too think its a short life,I think its full of unnecessary cruelty, anguish and pain,I agree life is a learning process but mostly we learn to deal with all the cruelty, anguish and pain without going crazy.

We all grow old and our bodies start to malfunction,we often suffer great pain, indignity and downright frustration that our bodies won't do what we tell them any more,if your lucky, many are not and your mind begins to malfunction which is an even worse fate,if your very lucky you'll die unexpectedly in your sleep which can emotionally cripple your loved ones and of course your never going to see any of them again after that.

ATM to me life seems like we've all made a with the devil, you can have a few young care free healthy days but you must pay with pain and suffering at the end.

Call me Emo I don't care,I think we got screwed on this deal.

Oh well I'll push it to the back of my mind and continue putting one foot in front of the other, until I'm in agonising pain and legs don't work that is...:cool

Since I will make 70 in 6 months, I have had a lifetime of some pretty wild experiences..........most of which I have learned from and enjoyed, others I have regretted later. And, choosing medicine (OB-Gyn) for a profession, I have also experienced highs and lows with many, many of my patients and their families.
My one piece of advice is ------- live each day as though is were to be your last. That way, you leave little undone and take the time to say "I Love You" to those that matter (and some who don't). You won't be unhappy if you take the cheerful approach to things. Being an optimist helps.
On my tombstone, I would like to have "He enjoyed life to the fullest".

Glad you like the name. It goes with the avatar. The experience I get with the washroom seat is the battle between me and my Wife over whether or not it's important to be up or down. My post explains how I look at it. See, women always want it down so they can just drop their drawers and sit. They're lazy. I actually remember a woman who just went in the bathroom, and with out looking, (not my Wife) just got in position and sat, the seat being up, and fell in screaming. Memories are made of this. LOL roflmao

57 here, so not quite as much experience but enough to wholeheartedly agree. Treasure your family if you have any. After two divorces and near bankruptcy, that's the one thing you can rely on.

I was being deadly serious I think life is a bum deal,we're all slowly dying even healthy people everyone around me seems to be sick or dying my family/friends and IMO the people who brush this off haven't thought long enough or hard enough to truly understand what death means. So you may expect me to be an unhappy person, I have lots of reasons to be but I'm not, curiosity about the universe and humour gets me through the day, the universe is an unbelievably mysterious and fascinating place to me and I love learning about it which in lies the other kicker,I'll be dead before I can learn or see a fraction of what the universe has to offer.

Yes you may:)Guess and tell me why you think I'm that age then I'll tell you,be honest, you won't offend me;)

EDIT I doubt I'll have children but I think they are the one thing that's important to mankind, passing your DNA to the next generation to become part of the future inhabitants of the universe, whether they become gods or monsters if you reproduce you become part of that chain,so you've made a difference.

Since you've obviously got this good a grasp on it, there isn't anything we can share with you to explain it further. Life IS a learning process...it's what you do with that knowledge that determines who you are and how you'll end up.

Marriage is a gate to a new life for some people...others of us prefer never to marry or have children (in whatever order), but instead make our own lives.

Not caring for your parents does not necessarily make you a bad person, regardless of whether you become something in life or not. There are some parents who don't deserve to be cared for, and their children should be commended for surviving them, not censured for walking away from them.

Life is what you make of it. My experiences are going to be completely different from anyone else's, even within my own family, so they obviously will be different from yours. The best you can hope for is to learn something every day, live your life like you mean it, and find people to care about who return the favour. Everything else is gravy.

I just had a huge wake up today (via email). Forgot to say "Thank You" to my in-laws for a gift that they gave to me during the Christmas holidays.

    So,
    1) don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today
    2) Be thankful for what you have and make sure others know that you are thankful.

But if we want to be respected by our children, we had to respect our parents even if they do not deserve it... It is because of our parents that we are in this world... In my opinion, parents should be respected because if they do something which doesn't suit us, that thing is for our betterment... Like if some Parents ban the playing of computer games for a child because it is affecting his/her eyesight and studies, then it is or the betterment of the child because studies are more important... The child will consider the parents as his/her enemy but once he will become something in life after studying, he/she will realize that my parents were right and What i am now is because of them..

I hope you understand... Have a great day..:wave

I am NOT talking about parents being strict. I am talking about parents who physically or emotionally abuse their children, who abandon them, who choose buying drugs over feeding them, etc. There are parents in the world who do not deserve the respect or even company of their children, because the choices they make are NOT for the betterment of said children, they are at best selfish choices that are to the indisputable detriment of their children.

    Experiences of life...hmmm...

Well, my first parachute jump, I peed in my pants - but, one hour later, I made my second jump...

My next to last jump, I wiped out a wooden fence, separated my rib cage, and spent 3 weeks in a soft cast - and then I made my last jump...

    Do those count?
