Not sure where to put this...

My roommate (Beleive me, I know is sound stereotypical...but it really was my roommmate.) recently installed a high def version of DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) and found that his computer was unable to handle it, so while trying to go to a standard def version, he deleted....something, now, everyime he loads the game, he gets a blue screen and the following message

BAD_POOL_HEADER


***STOP: 0x0000019 (0x0000020, 0x86135c98, 0x0A280001)


Tried doing a system restore, no go, computer won't read the restore DVD for whatever reason.

Tried setting a restore point, again, no go.

I feel bad for the guy cause letting him near a computer is like letting a drunken bull with epilepsy loose in a china shop where the shelves are made of tissue paper.....just dangerous, but he really wants to play the game and I have no idea how to help him. ANY help would be very much appreciated, thanks!

 

I suggest deleting the entire program folder for the game, then run a registry cleaner, and perform a clean install of the standard version of the game.

Not sure what you mean by this. The restore points are held on the hard drive, not a DVD. Assuming it is XP, it is found under system tools in the program accessories. If there are restore points prior to this problem, it may fix it.

 

My mistake. What I meant was tried to use the restore DVD. Sorry, not a lot of sleep lately and brain is not working.

And setting a restore point did not work.
