Hello everyone, thanks so much for the prayer warriors! Man, what a Christmas! :eek! Here is what hubby got for Christmas:

1-Ambulance
2-EMT's
3-Chest X-Rays
4-Needle-Pokes
5-Cute Nurses

And one Nurse Ratchet waiting in the wings!

This had nothing to do with his COPD. On Christmas Day, the only complaint he had, was that he felt dizzy when he stood up, and lightheaded.. I had him sit down, and I took his BP.. (Now, he was just at the Dr's office on the 22nd, and his BP was normal) However, when I took it Christmas Day, it was 126/49 and his pulse was 31

Of course, he didn't want to BOTHER anyone, he said he would call the Dr on Monday.. Guess what. Nurse Ratchet was on (ME!) and I just simply dialed 911. :-D Two EMT's were here within minutes, and then the Ambulance.. Well, OK, to make the LONG story much shorter, they took him to the closest hospital, then to a bigger one 60+ miles away.. I went up and stayed there also.. He didn't have a heart attack. His cholesterol was 130 , and his pulse was steadily going downhill.. He had NO other symptoms at all.

First, they thought he might be having a reaction to his meds.. But, after the Cardiologist seen him, he said no waiting, prep him now, and he put in a pacemaker.. From what he told me, his heart was not getting the elec. signal to pump.. He had 31 heartbeats a minute, and normal for him is 79. Had I waited another hour to call 911, I would have been planning a funeral.

They put in a dual pacemaker, and his color came right back, he is feeling real good and LUCKY. It will take time to recover, but I am sooooo thankful for 911, and the response of those EMT's.. They had him "wired" for whatever may happen between here and there.. Talk about SCARY.. No, I don't want to go thru that again...

Now, you know my true nickname! "Nurse Ratchet" LOL Got it for a reason, and he is still with me because of it.

Hi BT, tell JOTS I just tucked him into bed. He is glad to be home.. Maybe we both will get some sleep now..He is home and resting, so I just have to keep an eye on him.. BT, tell JOTS I JUST got home from the hospital!

@ Rusty... Yup, that was my secret profession.! LOL! I do know how to take a temp! :eek but I get it ! :-D BP is easy... :-D

Hey BT, Keep those :strong :strong going, as we are not out of the woods yet.. I have to take temps every day, and BP to check for any infection.. You know, the body is a wonderful piece of equipment.. Sometimes things go great, but can also change on a dime....

Tell JOTS we miss him something fierce here.. I also thank him too.. I don't have a Wii, but maybe someone in the gaming area can assist???? I sure would like to see him here... Been a rough holiday, one I sure don't want to repeat.... Thanks, BT

Hello, fellow Geeks, thanks for all the positive vibes, it has been one truly wild New Year's Eve, and one I don't want to repeat... I hope he is home to stay now, as he spent New Year Eve in the hospital, but he is home now, and I intend on keeping him here.

Some things, we just don't have any control over, but just have to make the best of the situation.. Thanks Rusty, Hrlow2 and Halo Means the world to me, you know that. Hi PapaD, it sure seems like a decade, for sure ... He is on the mend, Papa, he just needs time for the needle pokes to heal! They look like they hurt, too... Hope you are well..
