Firefox/Farmville 100% CPU usage.

OK so, farmville; 100% CPU usage every time, It's not only farmville though I could scroll this page right now or any other page and it'll spike to 100% in less than a min. Same prob in both FF and IE. I posted in hardware and they said it sounded like a software problem. Any ideas what it is and how to fix it? Thanks.

Browser: FF Latest version.
IE 8 - Latest Ver

 

So in Task Manager's processes it's FF and/or IE that spike the CPU only?
Try running FF in safe mode.
Start > All Programs > Mozilla FF> FF safe mode.
And For IE -
Start. All Programs> Accessories>Sys Tools> IE (No- Add-ons)

IE With no add ons; still 100% CPU- This was just by scrolling FB's home page.
FF in safe mode; still 100% CPU as well.- Same.

 

I'm guessing this means it was not a software problem.

 

Did you put a check on "Disable all Add-ons" and click on "Make changes and restart".

Now all your Extensions and Plugins will be disabled.
Check now and see If FF and only FF is spiking the CPU.

If things are fine now, start enabling each extension and plugin - one by one With a FF restart, each time - to trouble shoot, if any when enabled, start to create issues.

Also are flash and Java updated?

Tried all of that and yes to all the above, lol. Crazy as it sounds, my 2.5 ghz P4 can't handle farmville that's all there is to it.

 

I use super anti spyware, house call and malware bytes; should i be using something else?
