windows 7

I am about to try and up grade to Windows 7 on my Vista 64 bit Gateway. It tells me I must remove ATI Control Panel and Drive Letter Access Component. This make me a little nervous since I don't know how to get it back after installing 7. Any suggestion?:

You will need to download the driver updates for the computer from Gateway. Having a model number of you computer would help us find the updates at Gateway if you would provide that to us.

You will enjoy Windows 7 and I would guess that you won't need to update any drivers from Gateway since Microsoft does include a ton of drivers for hardware.

Hi

Just also check before you upgrade that all your hardware and software etc are ok with Windows 7, and the Upgrade Advisor Tool is good for this HERE

AS an upgrade can take a while as if you have not run this tool, you may end up having to uninstall many drivers or software to get the upgrade to start as a reletive of mine found out reciently, they in the end (or should I say I) did a clean install once we had run the tool to see what could cause issues then once we downloaded the drivers, run the clean install and basically all runs smooth with just the Chipset, Audio drivers to install.

These are the drivers available for your model HERE and I note many are Windows 7, so you should be fine.
