    Yeah been going for a quite some years has bandwidth place, but I see they updated their test from the old text readout one, not seeing how its funny tho.

    I was lost on that one too.

    Nice that they pick the nearest site for the tap. I used to pick someplace far away and compare. I show dialin for San Francisco area and they picked Los Angeles.....:confused

    I'd have gone with that Ken, but most use similar GUI (speedtest, speakeasy, speed.io) makes no earthly difference, just wondered what was funny in case I missed something.

    I'm moving to Kes's house..... much better speed than me at home, 240kb/s DL and 89kb/s UL, do live miles from exchange.

    NO, on ADSL2+ but as not everyone lives in a city they cannot take advantage of the max speeds available, old telephone lines and distance to exchange.

    Just ran that one again and take note I did type originally kb/s and not kbps

    Download Speed: 2851 kbps (356.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Upload Speed: 825 kbps (103.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

    I have been fighting with Windstream for over 6 months now because of speeds fluctuating all the time...as in down to 128kbps!! They finally replaced a T-1 card. This is what I pay for finally!!!! ;)

    Did some performance tweaking on Opera and re-tried.

    985 kbps (123.1 KB/sec) download
    239 kbps (29.9 KB/sec) upload.

    I wish I could say it's my speed at home. . . it isn't. It's my work connection. My home speed is close to what Kestrel posted from her friends house.

    Pretty accurate and what I typically average on a daily basis.

    But the other test really makes it look better, and I have achieved download speeds this fast often:

    Heres mine at work from speakeasy.net. on a good day ill get around 2.5mb on a bonded T1. at home i get around 6mb..

    Here's speedtest which I believe more. Maybe my ISP upped my BW again without telling which they've done a couple of times already without charging extra. IDK
