Bought a new graphic card 3 months ago (ASUS AH4650 Series) and in the 1st 2 months everything was OK. I'm playing EVE On-Line on this machine since 2008 and never had any problems with it. The only upgrades I've done were adding a 1GB DDRAM to it and this graphic card. Since 2-3 weeks ago it crashes and gives me this error : Windows - Display Driver Stopped Responding. The ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you the chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft. Rebooting, the dialog appears, upload data IE opens sending me to Windows Update site - which it doesn't work because it needs a ActiveX Control thingy which I cannot download because the Information toolbar doesn't appear. DOMINO EFFECT, ffs. I managed to get myself the latest driver for my video card but the problem persists. DxDiag says this:The file ati2dvag.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer. This is a continues loop ending up to the same problem. IE/ActiveX Control problem: I don't have in my add-ons list that WUWebControl Class that windows update is talking about.

    System manufacturer: AWARD
    System model: AWARDCPI
    BIOS: Phoenis - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
    Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+ ~1.6GHz
    Memory 2048 DDRAM
Graphic Card: ASUS AH4650 Series, 1024MB
    Monitor: SyncMaster 720N
OS: Win XP Pro SP 2 5.1, Build 2600

My question: How do I get that WUWebControl Class in IE add-ons list?
and How to get rid of that pesky crash to desktop I get every night, during roaming?! :)

For any other info, please ask. TY

Repeatedly press F8 whilst the computer is starting up, jest before the windows loading screen appears, and there should be an option along the lines of "disable digital driver signing" in the list that comes up. Select this using the keyboard arrow keys and press enter. The computer should then boot normally and this should solve the driver issue.

If this does not help please post back.

    Hi Ryan,

Yes, you are doing this correctly.

However, in this case BIOS checking is not necessary as the operating system works, it is probably just a video card driver error.
