BSOD - KMixer.sys --- HELP

I looked at all support threads and have no where else to go ...

I have been getting the Blue Screen of Death for a few months now. I got enough time to try and fix the problem. On my last two blue screens I wrote down what they said.

KMixer.sys

KMixer.sys is what I believed caused it. The problem with this, what I read the problem is of course, is that KMixer.sys is a kernal drive and if I delete it then it could make it worse. I also heard a lot of viruses disguise themselves as this drive.

When does this error occur?

This error occurs when I use a program while playing Counter Strike: Source.

The program is called Ventrilo (www.Ventrilo.com) This game uses a lot of ventrilo because it is a team game and you need to communicate. I just want to know if I can fix this.

If I reinstalled Ventrilo would that work?

What operating system version are you using and what service pack?Also what security software are you using?

 

Service Pack: 3

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition

 

From what I can see this a is a problem specific to ventrilo and CSS,Kmixer is a windows audio component error,few things to try disable built in voice in CSS,update your sound card drivers from the manufacturers website,run windows update,update ventrilo software and the check their site for this error.

PFN_List_Corrupt is a general memory corruption error,this update may be of some value even though you have service pack 3 so give it a whirl,make a restore point first.

It could also point to memory failure,double check your memory is ok by running memtest.

This didn't help. I still get the error.

 

What didn't work?What have you tried and what are the results?You haven't even told me what security your running?

 

I already know KMixer.sys is causing it.. If I delete this driver will my computer run even worse?

 

I mean ventrilo is causing this, people say it could be an audio conflict. What could I do to fix this conflict?
