Lenopause!

I mentioned before that Leno was preempted 3 times during Conan's final 2 weeks (Scott Brown election, SotU, Haiti Telethon)...well, tonight he was preempted a 4TH time -- for the Big Loser finale, off all things (?!) -- and my cousin informs me that his "final show" has been moved up 2 or 3 days earlier than originally planned.

This guy is turning into Rodney Dangerfield. In his entire 14+ years on air, I can't recall him being preempted more than once or twice (World Series, I think it was); yet here it is 6-7 times in his waning days?!

Oh, and just to add insult to injury, our block suffered a BLACKOUT last night, right in the middle of the show!

Man. Tell me when he's scheduled next to be on, I'm predicting a METEOR CRASH....

A guy off the tv late night shows who has been battle in the USA recently for the show and ratings. Name J leno

 

I used to watch Johnny Carson all the time, (really dating myself here).
It's never been the same since he left. Carson was like your jokester next door neighbor, neither Leno or Conan ever brought that to the stage, IMHO.

 

I hardly watched Leno after his switch to 10PM except at the start and it didn't impress me, I'd rather watch CSI or something. A two hour 'biggest loser' eh, expect much more of that crap after the Olympics to fill that 10PM spot.

They have nothing ready to put in that time slot and I expect it will bleed a lot more money before getting back to previous status because of their premature cable paradigm, give the masses some cheap (relatively) entertainment, they won't notice the difference.

Oh, I can't stand Conan either. BTW, I know it's late at 12:30 but Craig Ferguson is still the best of the lot on CBS, even if he has gone downhill a bit, he needs to do some more skits like he used to to go along with his great rants.

 

The thing is, his 10pm show had higher ratings than The Tonight Show did when he was on it, but they weren't competitive with other shows in the 10pm slot. Conan absolutely TANKED The Tonight Show's ratings (down 50%).

I havnt watched any late night shows for quite some time. They got all sorts but mostly I like people that were on it or I like it when they do the "Miss Types"of ads and pictures or whatever. They were on those cards theyd show.

But I like
1. Conan Obrien - I could watch full show.
2. David Letterman - could watch full show.
3. Leno - I think he copied the miss types from conan but I may be wrong.

I think ppl have rose-coloured memories of Johnny Carson. Despite a rocky start, Leno has consistently had HIGHER ratings than Carson ever did. And this despite there being like 400 channels now, where there were what, 7 or 9, for most of Carson's reign?

Put another way, Carson would have tanked FAR WORSE in the 10pm slot. Perhaps as bad as Conan is tanking now in the later slot.

People should get off Jay's case. He was doing "reasonably" well in an untested slot...and is now heading back to the later slot to RESCUE the network from the unmitigated DISASTER Conan has been!

That said, I agree that FERGIE is the best....

I enjoyed watching Jay myself, but when they went to all digital TV, we don't' get NBC anymore.. So, there went the ratings.. rolleyes I think he did great on the Tonight show, but haven't seen his 10PM show at all..

I used to tape it, and then watch it when nothing else was on. Worked for me.

I know, that 2/3 of my entire area code doesn't get NBC at all.. :cry
