Trouble getting certain web-page functions to operate

I have been experiencing some problems on some pages (email - both Yahoo and Hotmail - Facebook, and some other sites/pages).

The trouble seems intermittent, but has been in getting certain functions to load effectively. So far, this is what I am aware of:

Replying and Sending some emails, and getting the inbox in Facebook to open, among some others. The buttons either don't work, or, if/when they "seem to", the page they lead to doesn't load.

The following just just displayed on my Yahoo Mail webpage:

"Automatic page updates causing problems with your screen reader"?

"If you are using a screen reader and having problems using Mail, it might help to disable automatic page updates. Please note, this will also disable chat and text messaging within Yahoo! Mail. You can toggle automatic updates on and off using the link below. Disable automatic page updates".

I disabled those auto. page updates, to no avail.

I am also unable to click-on/select things such as The B-Bold, I-italics, & U-Underline on the MG "Post New Thread" page from where I am typing this...

    Any clues? Guesses? Please?

What OS and what browser. If IE, is it 8?

I've been having a lot of trouble with FF and a corrupted cache. I don't know if the cause is a recent update to FF or what? Anyway, I have found clearing FF cache fixes the problem temporarily. (particularly the issue with using the bold, italic etc. buttons here at MG)

Thank you. I recently cleaned-out (cleared? dumped?) my FF cache, and then also increased the space for it.

And yes, things I do seem to temporarily help, but the last few days have been trying.

I got to the point where I really needed to access my various in-boxes this eve., so did a Vista System Restore, which *seems* to have helped (?) ... after I got through the amazing s-l-o-w long, tedious re-start that is. One of the svchost.exe's was running at 282,000+ (PLUS) kbs!!!!! I'll try to attach a screenshot...

    Thanks again...
