Firewall Protection

Every time I check the status of my firewall protection it's always turned off...even with the"Don't allow exceptions" selected. I suspect I may have conflicting anti-spy ware programs shutting if off..Does anyone have suggestions on what steps I should take? I'm concerned my computer is vulnerable...Thanks Starzar

 

well..let me go down the list...Zone Alarm, Returnil Virtual System, Advanced System Care Free Edition, Super Anti-spyware 4.34.1000, Microsoft Security Essentials and Finally Norton Anti- Virus. Too Much Huh!?

 

which one do you suggest I remove?

 

I suggest you remove both and install Avira free edition: http://free-av.com/en/index.html

I am not sponsored or employed by Avira, I am just a happy customer. I suggest this as Avira free edition is, well, free, unlike Norton, it uses less resources than Norton with a comparable detection rate, it has a lower false positive rate (finding virii that aren't there) to Norton.

I cannot compare Avira to Microsoft security essentials as I have never used the microsoft product, but based on the fact it is a Microsoft product makes me slightly worried about it's level of security.
