Just installed this unit on my main/folding rig and am really satisfied so far.
Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.36 Ghz from 2.67Ghz standard clock.
Changed the original HSF to a Zalman CNPS9700 LED 110mm (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118019) and temps have been running mid to upper 70s C. This rig runs 24/7 folding on all 8 cores so there is a great deal of stress on the system plus 2 GTX 260/216 add to the heat load.
Straight from the box and using the stock TIM, temps are running low to high 50s C. Some concern there with a 6 degree spread across the cores but that may change after some break in time.
I did do two changes from the regular install -
    (1) Air is being exhausted from case instead of blowing outside air in.
    (2) Added a second fan to achieve a push/pull arrangement to maximize cooling.

Hopefully this will keep my temps reasonable and possibly do a little more overclocking.;)

Couple of pics of the unit -

I got one too, although its not as good as your rig, it keeps my Quad Athlon (3.5Ghz) under 45C load.

IMO the H-50 has the best Price/Performance ratio of any cooler!

BTW - you have a really neat setup, good cable management!

    I agree!

BTW, is that a Cat5 cable I see snaking on the carpet?:-D

It's a work in progress on the cabling. The power supply is not modular so it does create a little bit of a mess.

Yeah, my wireless card took a :crap on me and I haven't replaced it yet. Not the most elegant solution but what the hey. Wife hasn't complained yet.;)

...If only my pc was that neat!

Nice setup. Cut a few holes in the right side of the case, and you can run a lot of those power cables out of site, and hide the unused ones. I have been working a LOT more on my cable management. :-D

Thanks Fred_G. My case does have a couple of holes and I've got as many cables and excess lengths stuffed back in there as I can and still get that side cover closed.;)

You could also flip that PSU if you have a grill on the bottom of your case. Only issue there is that the case holes to afix the PSU are drilled only one way! Aaarrgghhh!!!

I know this thread is sort of 'stale' but I had to comment. I got myself an H50 a month or so ago and am loving it. I'm also doing the dual fan push/pull but have a textbook install as far as the direction (intaking). If my case weren't already as wide open and basically 'grated', I'd do an exhaust setup myself. Great cooler though!

    Hi MarkyTee

Cool (pardon the pun) on the H50 cooler install, btw whats your current temps of CPU? just curious.

Yes please, and can you post your system specs?

Hi guys! I've been lurking the MG board for years (joined around 6 yrs ago) and am finally attempting to become a more active poster, but taking the time I took to reply back here isn't getting me off to a good start! My apologies, and over time I hope to become an active member of the community.

    My full specs are:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    Asus P6T (vanilla)
    i7 920 @ 3.89 w/Corsair h50 cooler
    6gb (3x2gb) Corsair XMS3 1600 (@ 1700mhz)
Diamond Radeon HD5870 1gb (@ stock clocks, Diamond cards aren't very popular with the OC'ing crowd!)
    500gb Seatgate Barracuda/1tb Hitachi Deskstar
Two 22x DVD burners (IDE LG / SATA LiteOn)
    Corsair TX750 750w PSU
    Corsair HAF 932 case

It's more or less a 'cookie cutter' build on slight overclock steroids, but I am enjoying it immensley! I just put this together back in February and it replaced my aging (but competent) skt 939 setup (Asus A8V-X/4200+ X2/AGP HD3850/2gb Mushkin PC3200). My most recent add in on the new beast was the h50 cooler. I idle at 33-35c and generally see around 45c when gaming (GTA IV, Bioshock, Arma 2 etc.) and have seen my temp max at 65c (no higher) when running Prime 95. I've cross checked my temps using 3 diferrent utilities, so they're fairly accurate. The h50 gave me a 5 degree drop across the board (over the stock cooler with a lower clock @ 3.5ghz) which doesn't sound like a huge deal, but I find a few other benefits. It's quieter (to me, do to it -the fans- being at the back of case and my case's position next to my desk), easier to clean (compressed air shoots any dust straight out the rear vent instead of chasing it around the inside of the case), I've gotten a slightly higher clock at lower temps, and (a benefit of little function, but a lot of form) it just plain looks neat! :cool

Edited to add- My cores actually vary around 4-5 degrees across the 4, the temps I gave are an average and are the single temp that 2 utilities I use (Asus PC Probe for one) report.

Just adding another point (already edited my last reply and didn't see the option to edit upon returning, so I'm adding another reply :-o). I have clocked my system higher with the h50 and saw no temp changes (ran @ 4.1ghz for a 'trial' period). I've found the h50 to be very capable. Also, allow me to me pardon any spelling errors (I just spotted more than a couple in my last reply). Proof reading before clicking 'submit' isn't one of my stronger forum skills! :(

Very nice set up and good temps all around. I would like to get HAF case also for my next build.
(That would be a monster of a CPU folder if you're interested. At least SMP2 folding if not bigadv.);)

There's a 10 minute edit limit and the preview button next to the submit button comes in handy for me.:-D

:drool at 4.1GHz! :cool Good to hear another positive comment about the H-50 as I really don't want to spend hundreds extra for a regular W/C system, besides installing all the extra hardware.

Yup, I'm still running a s939 X2 3800+ and I agree, somewhat dated yet competent. It just hums along quietly. I am going to retire that when I get my i7 very soon to replace my Q6600 as my main rig so I'm quite hyped!:hyper:-D
