Got bored and looked at some old pics... well, old for me. This is proof that someone stole my style to create Hermione! I guess I get my turn suing JKR! :)
When was Harry Potter invented? By then I was probably a Freshman or Sophomore in high school, and this was like in 1994 or so. :O

    Wow, this is really creepy.
The thing is, now that I really look at it, I have the exact same haircut, style, bushy eyebrows, dark eyes and... face! Don't ask about the coat, this was in Italy. :( I feel violated.

Ah, but you are a blonde! :-D And a cute one at that... :) Nice curls too. Mine is board straight. :p

    Maybe it was cold out?

Eh, a couple of years ago I was talked into dying my hair Red, since then my hair has grown out grayish blond. At least I won't know when I get grays.
Unfortunately I don't look anything like her anymore. I look like a photocopy of my mother instead. Maybe she will look like me at my age, then maybe I can sue her! XD

I never noticed the whole Hermione thing until today. I used to braid my hair to be wavy like that. When I do it now I don't look like her, instead, now.... I look like Sarah Palin, that is, with the hair up and glasses. I always had passengers tell me I looked like her every time they walked by. So maybe it me that looks like them, but the other way around! :D

Guys can look like their mothers -- my brother might not look like my mom but his friends sure think of me as him with long hair.

I really don't remember being that tall at that age. I must have been at least 9 there considering I always looked like I was in pre-school all through elementary school to high school, and some college I guess... I think I hit the 'Palin' phase about 2 years ago... I think I am having an identity crisis. Am I real?

Heard of it, never read it or watched it though. I know there are some fanatic fans of the whole thing, guess it's not for my generation, baby boomer, aging rapidly, sure I've got in well over half my time here.:wave

Wow. By now everyone should know who she is considering she grew a chest and is probably on her way to being another Brittney Spears.

Then again, if anyone has a good comprehensive knowledge of sci-fi and fantasy, some people might know about all the stories Harry Potter was 'allegedly' ripped off from. It's a kids' book though -- how did it get so popular with adults?

took me a while to figure out how to pronounce the name. I saw the movie, and didn't match the spelling.

Well, I'm probably around your age, more behind than in front.;) I've always loved sci-fi/fantasy since I was a tween but it had to be a good story too, if it's all shoot 'em up type story, then I don't like those. To each their own.

LOL @ chest!:drool She is turning into a nice woman.:) Oh, and gawd forbid the Spears allegation, Emma Watson has brains and a charming wit about her that Spears could never have!

As to the alleged rip-off, all those stories come from the same place. It's all good vs. evil and just the fighting tools are different. John Carter uses his sword on Mars to defeat the hordes, James T. Kirk uses his masculinity to defeat the quatloo loving Triskelions and Harry Potter uses his magic. I mean, how many variations can you have? It will always look like someone is ripping someone else off.

Well, remember, there are no cats in America!
    No wait, what?
    :)
As long as Disney doesn't get a hold of Emma, she will probably be okay.
But it is pretty insane how many articles on the internet there are about how JKR is suing some Bollywood guy for 'ripping' her off and then she is ironically sued by a million people for what she wrote. If there's one thing I learned from living in Japan (and no, not that you can win pornography at an arcade!) is that Japanese artists are flattered by 'blatant copying' and actually consider an honor what we consider plagiarism.
But I can never forgive them for stealing my childhood and turning it into a movie about WITCHCRAFT! Kidding.

My mom still has that coat. It's actually made out goat or something. Lots of sheep and goats over where I lived so I guess they make coats out of the goats they eat. She tried to give it to me to wear. She's completely Italian so she doesn't understand that wearing something like that (especially when walking down the quad of a Liberal Arts University) might get you a free paint shower.
About why I wore it... well, everyone was wearing them. Really... just like everyone was wearing tall black boots with high wedges, long black skirts and black blouses. That was the fashion for our local 7 to 8 year olds. My mom wouldn't let me wear the boots though. She thought I would fall and break my neck.
Maybe I should start a fashion line based on the weird stuff I wore as a kid.

Ya, about those 'painters', I wonder if they wore leather shoes, belts, makeup or jackets.rolleyes I find that using an animal to entirety is an honour to it's life. Eat the meat but throw away the hide? THAT is non-sequitor to me and a waste!:confused

  27. m0u5y

Yeah I know. I love animals and all and do believe also that it is sad to see animals killed and wasted. If you're gonna kill it, you better eat what you can and make a house out of the rest... or an ugly coat. :) And I think what really is key in all of this is that the animal is honored. Well, at least the coat was warm... :-o
