Scottsdale Arizona

Hi folks

I was wondering if anyone around that area knew of any work going. I have a very good friend around there who is desperate to change her situation. At the moment she is giving full time care to an elder citizen. It was supposed to be a part time situation for somewhere to live and a few dollars to live on but the 'man' of the house is pretty much treating her like a slave.

My friend is an outstanding and sound person with a warm heart and interesting personality. She is a writer and general creative. In fact she was one of the original DJ's on Atlantic 252 and also worked on Radio Caroline.

I wish I was in a position to help her out more but unfortunately the UK is pretty well closed for business in many ways at the moment.

Anyhoo if anyone can help, even just suggestions or leads, please let me know and I'll put you in touch.

Just a little update, she would be particularly interested in house sitting or something similar as she is live in at the moment. Just needs a breathing space and to get away from a situation where her good nature is being ruthlessly and cynically exploited, thanks folks

 

Yes, she is doing as much as she can, she can move if needed, she has lived in Chicago and would consider pretty much anything. I appreciate that nothing may happen on here but it's all networking and let's face it it is a pretty strong community hereabouts.

Background checks would be a breeze, she really is a very worthwhile person and I like to try as much as I can to help out friends. She has a grant coming in May, she won a nation wide writing prize and when that appears she intends to do a TESL course so that will open more avenues.

I have been helped out a couple of times in the past and believe strongly in Paying It Forward. If the construction industry wasn't dead on it's feet in the UK at the moment I would be in a better position to help but hey ho.

 

Good luck to your friend. Unfortunately here at this time the people who are first on the chopping block are health care providers and educators.

I am a bit confused, the thread mentions Scottsdale, Arizona. Are you interested in work in Scottsdale, or are you moving to this suburb of Phoenix?
