Oh my lord at the price!:eek I hope it was good.:) Maybe I'll get some 18 year old for next Christmas but I'm wondering if it would be worth it. I'm quite satisfied with 12 year old single malt whiskey and my pedestrian palate.;):wine

Damn Scotch! I liked some 10 year old Scotch, until I tried some 16 year old... Now I can only get a bottle if we get some closeouts. Well, I am off to pour me a glass. :wine

For that price, who cares if it's good. :eek

Anything that you eat/drink and it's gone isn't worth that kind of money.

Hey, I'm with you, Fred! Anyone who wants to offer it to me free of charge...I'm there! lLOL

I wouldn't be wasting my money on something that lasts as long as it takes you to drink it, though.

Bowmore? Usually they come in 5, 10, and 15 increments... Bowmore is the only one I recall off the top of my head that comes aged 12.

My husband gave me a 16-year old Talisker last Christmas... it lasted for 8 glorious, delicious, wonderful months. Purrrr. :)

My regular is a 12 yr. old Glenfiddich and one 750ml bottle lasts me a month, a few glasses every weekend with some %70 dark choco.:drool Man, hubby must have bought you a super Magnum of that one to last eight months!;):p :-D My next step up is the 15 year old just to see the difference, and if I like that then it's on to the 30 year old when I'll be flush with money and have all the hardware I want, maybe I'll buy a bottle.:cool:wine

Lets see, a shot is about 1.5 oz. That makes this around $1,120 a shot!!

Wonder if they'd just let me swirl around in my mouth and then put in back in the bottle?? :-D:-D

Not really. I save it for special occasions... I'm having Bowmore tonight. Loong, long day, and feeling like crap due to having a cold combined with eczema and insomnia. :(

Scotch makes everything better. It's one of those little luxuries for when serious spoiling and pampering is needed. :cloud9

Ye gads!! Scotch on St. Pat's day... Heathens. :-D I got some Clontarf Irish Whisky, but the stuff is not as smooth at most Irish Whiskeys. I might need a shot or two of Scotch to get it down... (or mix it Coke) :-D

about 20 years for me, and I would be sorely tempted to break the trend on a scotch like that.

I am a sucker for expensive scotch. The last bottle I drank was a 21 year old Macallan.

Hmm, after 20 years I'd say the closest you should get is some dessert flambeed with a good Scotch.:drool ;) Or not...:)

it has been so long that I haven't drank that I got buzzed off of some truffles made with Amaretto. (doesn't help I had a half dozen of them :-D)

flambe is with cheep stuff, why waste expensive when you are just going to burn it? same with mixing alcohol, like you can tell it was Grey Goose mixed in with the Red Bull

Hmm, they were probably dosed with raw Amaretto. Flambeeing gets rid of %95 of the alcohol so only the essential flavours remain. Eating food with raw alcohol in it just really sucks!:puke ;)

Ye gods man, you know that stuff is made in Canada? I have had some Irish Whiskey, Scotch, American Bourbon and Whiskey. No Canadian Whiskey. Actually, as far as I know, I have been Canadian free for the last few years. :-D

For that price it should come with a free car! :-D

I am perfectly happy with 12y/o if and when I drink it, 8y/o is terrible, might as well drink surgical spirit lol
