    Hi

In Device Manager what items have yellow ! marks? please name all.

I would be thinking of installing SP3 for XP as support for < SP2 is due to end on July 13th 2010 and from then on no more security updates will be available (just a thought)

    But try this

Install the Chipset/Video driver HERE then reboot.

Then install the Microsoft UAA driver HERE this is needed < SP3 for Audio driver to work, then install the Audio driver HERE

Then from this list HERE install the three drivers under Network and the drivers under Keyboard, Mouse etc

then tell us what devices in Device manager have yellow ! marks.

    Hi

Not come across that mesage before off hand for drivers, so try this, boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking) and see if the drivers will install.

Do you have any antivirus applications installed try disabling them to see that they are not blocking the driver install.

    Hi

Try to forget about the wireless user interface as if I remember correctly that just replaces the built in interface in Windows XP (I have a compaq and never use the interface app just the Windows built in one, but I am using Win7 on that PC now so slightly different setup), when in normal mode, check by right clicking the WiFi icon in your system tray (bit by clock) and choose View Available Wireless Networks and see if yours is in the list if so then choose Connect and at this point you may have to enter your wireless network password.

If it doesnt seem to work open Services up (found in Control Panel > Administrative Tools) and check that Wireless Zero Configuration service is started and set to automatic.

In Device Manager are there any yellow ! marks left?
