The "official" launch of the much anticipated newest GPU offering from NVidia took place yesterday, March 26 2010. Check any of your favorite sites for reviews and info. However, not ONE of these sites addresses my simple question:

How the heck do you pronounce "Fermi"??

I have four choices: "fur me" or "firm eye" or "fair me" or "fairm eye". I've been saying "fur me" since I first read about Fermi, but I have no idea if I'm right.
    LOL

    Thanks!

I was thinking about posting a thread about them too, but thought, "nah, they will already know about them". LOL

I say it "Fer me", and i saw a guy in a YT video say it that way too.

I am thinking about purchasing one, but ATM my case is too small and just OMG at the prices! AND TBH the ATI 5870 just spanks it down in Price/Performance ratio!

They are available to pre-order at only one store here in the UK, what about over there, whats the availability like? I heard they are limited supply :(

I have been a staunch Nvidia fan for some time now and have tried most of the top cards, the GTX 295 was without doubt the fastest thing on the planet but i always had a heat problem with mine and eventually fried it.

My intention was to get one of these new cards but after reading the reports about how hot it runs i am rethinking my strategy, maybe 2 GTX 260s sli setup but i will do a little more research first.

I have always heard it pronounced Fer-me.

Yes i agree, Bill, something like the CoolIT Omni ALC would be ideal for the job!

:) Yup.... I'm probably going to go the same route. I currently have a single GTX260 and an SLI capable mobo (Asus M4N72-E), but it seems that the GTX260 is becoming somewhat scarce (Newegg is completely out of stock!), and I don't have the $$$ for both a 2nd GTX260 and the new 850w (or higher) power supply I'll need.

@ everyone that replied: Thanks!!! I was pretty sure it was "fur-me" but didn't want to sound like stooge if it was actually "fair-me" or something. LOL
