then I have to switch it off at the powerpoint, wait 10s, switch it on again, and then it connects and everything is fine.

Most times another PC in the house is also unable to connect.

It used to happen once every few days or week, but now it might be 2 or 3 times a day.

    Im using a Dell Inspiron 6400 with a Intel ProSet and a D-Link DSL-G604T.

Does the Wireless on the laptop only fail when you log onto the computer?

Are you having an issue with the Wireless on any other machine in the same home?

my first reactions would be if the wireless security setting on the router have been changed,or that the wirless adapter on the machine is working properly and might be disabled or the drivers disappeared for some reason

    are you using windows

As it's happening with more than 1 computer I'd say something in the router is the culprit. Have you done a firmware update recently, was power to the router disrupted recently maybe causing a reset to default settings? I would go through your router settings just to be sure.

Thanks. I have updated the router...and no problems in two weeks.
