Which is the best photo editer from download list?

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong place :confused

Had some lovely photos taken of my daughter, 48 to be exact and they are all 'keepers'
Don't want to pay the studio prices though.
They have given me 'normal' sized prints of the photos which im scanning to the pc but i need to know the best program to download to remove the word 'proof' from them, it's in chunky grey writing.

Had a look at download list on here but i'm at a loss as to which is the best one to do this - can anyone advise me?

if you want to remove an unwanted object/text in a photo, here's an app that will do that: INPAINT. http://www.teorex.com/inpaint.html

Also, if you use Microsoft Office, you've got a great photo editor right in your system. Office 2007 has Microsoft Office Picture Manager and older versions of Office have Photo Editor, its predecessor (which is actually even better!!!)

 

Thanks for your reply but that program didn't work, It stretches the rest of the picture around it. Also i don't run office. Any other ideas?

If you don't have MS Office, you can download PhotoEditor by itself. Just Google it.
