    At random some issues: Hang/Freeze/Tons of Weird errors in event viewer relating to services winint winlogon .dll files and other stuff over my head.. Also other odd errors relating to movie maker, internet connectivity(IPv6/DNS/DCHP). DNS error with websites I never went to. Lots of security reports services being stopped and hundreds of anonymous logons. Registry issues. My privledges are frequently giving me issues - can not save to C:, cant open this dir or do 'that'. Adobe has been reporting errors. When I run registry cleaners they find MANY invalid enteries on a very frequent BASIS. Iexplorer is giving me weird issues and crashing(shutting down) or locking up at random. My minidump files get deleted/removed or otherwise disappear(Not over written....). They are in C:\windows\minidump. They are there one day then 20 hours later the folder is empty). In event viewer my security log files seem to be gone or I am being denied access.

    Something else odd? When I run task manager you know the tabs: Process, User, Performance and such? They are not there.

    When the screen freezes it gets a white glossy coat.

    A really weird issue: I can not warm boot, it freezes at the table towards the end of(or after) the POST! I can cold boot everytime. That shouts ram, I understand but think software with me?

    Alot of my issues seem to be symptoms of uhhh? The comfick worm or something? Or symptoms of 1-2 other trojan / viruses I Read about.

    I have had thousands of errors(tens of thousands). 80% of them started on 3/24/2010. Some of my event viewer logs go back to 3/4/2010. Again this must be relevant, right? All of the errors 80% of them started on the same day. Then either repeat themselves or variations. The broken hardware, virus or software corruption HAD to have started on this date with that in mind right?

    I ran: Trend Micro, SaSpyware, AVG, Spybot, Bitdefender, Trojan Hunter, Microsoft Security Essentials, and defender.

    A mod here reviewed my logs and found nothing. I ran all of those checkers found nothing. So, although in my mind it shouts virus it obviously is not?What do you think I need to do?

    Although the DMP files have been deleted event viewer still has:
    The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003d (0xfffff80003fc7110, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff80002c8810e). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 032910-31527-01.

    ---------------------------------
    If it helps I have a more detailed report of one of the .dmp errors. I used something called bluescreen reader? There are MANY, too many event viewer logs to just post. Should I post a few? HOW HOW HOW can I help you help me?

    What I have done:

    Ran Memtest on ram both sticks

    CPU / HD is not hot. HD temp was/is 80F ish. I forget other temps but were ok.

    Fans work

    Ran Dr.Watson

    Ran Western Digitial HD software/ Ran Seagate Software

    Removed and reinstalled all components

    Ran multiple virus scan/checker

    Dusted

    Installed newest bios

    Restored to default IE(Removed all add - ons)

    Ran SiSoftware's Sandra

    Ran Troubleshooting via windows....

    All this and a lot more. All report back NO!!! ISSUE!!!!

    Initially with the privledge issues, registry issues, anonymous logins, internet issues and user account issues I assumed this was a virus or 'bug' installing itself and making changes to hide itself then using my connection for its own purpose. Ive gotten help here and scanned the heck out of my cpu. So that is not it, right?

    I did the gold standard memory test. I have 2 Kingston 2 gb sticks - both are the same.

    When I google my stop errors I just get general info for the first number. The other numbere (oox000x........) do not show. So, I assume they are individual to my machine? Can I figure out what they are?

    All this seems to have started on 3/28/2010 ish. If this is not a virus can I pull a complete log of the files I installed on 3.20 - 3.30? Might that help? Does it help if I just post random errors in my event viewer for you to see?

    Hi

    Do you get the same issues in Safe Mode?

    What software,drivers or udpates did you install if any on the 3/24/2010?

    You could attach in a text file (use Notepad) a small sampling of the BSOD messages you have been getting as it may give a clue as to what is going on but I would advise you to backup any and all important files, docs, images, music, applications and settings as with the amount of variable errors you are experiencing it maybe time to do a clean new install of Windows 7, and only install any drivers needed, no applications or updates, as from there we can see if with a default install you have issues, then if ok start installing other applications like security etc.

    Information on HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post please do it this way as not only can with long logs a thread be a scrolling nightmare (does put off some users from reading threads) but your posts will be filtered as spam as logs can have random characters that the spam filter picks up.

    Awesome -:clap. . .

    Starting with your suggestion.

    I do not know what software/drivers were updated on 'the day in question'. I did an event viewer log for 03/24/10 - 03/29/2010. But, I must have requested too many logs. I just do not understand what a lot of these mean: Information, Audit, Security, Critical - I do not understand the information they are reporting to me. Although the vast majority of errors(thousands) which started around 3/24 are still being reported I noticed 2-3 which were not.

    Obviously the date all the errors seem to have started is where I need to start. Does my computer maintain a log of which files were installed, updated and change from that 'long' ago 3/24(or there about)? Should I just make a custom Event Viewer Log? There are a lot of options: Windows,Applications and Service logs. Any idea how I should set up a custom view?

    Hi

    Have you tried Safe Mode yet? its important to try this mode as it can tell us a few things, from a driver issue to 3rd party software as the cause, can be many other things also.

    Would be better with BSOD errors from the minidumps and as you mentioned you had BlueScreenView? those would be ok, some info HERE

    What you could do is to open Event Viewer and which is the catagory with the most errors? likely Application? if so best option is to open Notepad, then in the Application or whichever catagory has the most errors, hold CRTL down and click to highlight various errors (choose about 10), they should highlight in blue and then right click one of the blue highlighted errors (doesnt matter which one so long as its highlighted in blue) and choose Copy > Copy Details as Text, then in Notepad right click anywhere on the blank page and choose paste, save the file and "attach" as listed in the instructions in my earlier post.

    Same "attach" in a Notepad text file a minidump file for BlueScreenView log.

    Just as a thought, do you have any system restore points going back to before the errors started? Type system restore into the Start Search box to locate system restore quickly and when open click Next and then tick the Show More Restore Points box and see if you have any listed from before this happened, dont restore just yet.

    I have a very decent Asus MoBo
    Phoenix Tech Bios(most recent version).

    I am very embarrassed to admit this but I can not get to safe mode. I should understand basic concepts like this. When I hold down F8 it takes me to a boot menu. The boot menu lists the drives I want to boot from. It lists the HDD and My 'generic' CD ROM. HDD then the CD ROM - is the bios boot order it came 'factory set' from the company(cyberpower) who built it.

    This menu I wind up at might be a menu you see if you were running multiple OS's too(I never ran multiple OS so I do not know).

    However, those are absolutely the only options I get.
    There is just no safe mode option. Is this a problem or am I just hitting the wrong 'hotkey'.

    I believe I can force a diagnostic startup by using Msconfig. But why can I not boot in safemode via the f8 hotkey? Is this somehow shut off? I would like to address this. Or most likely I am doing something wrong.

    Attached are some logs I felt might be relevant. I included about 13, sorry - not 10. Its just when I found one I thought here... There might be one to help. I am so overwhelmed by the amount of Errors, Critical & Warnings. From 3-27 to present there have been over 25,000 + logs in there 3 categories.

    I know this is a ton of information. So, even if you just take a brief look thanks. Any help is good even if you think it is a shot in the dark. If you think it is(shot in the dark) please let me know.

    This might be hardware. The fact many of my symptoms are those echoed in virus definitions, many of my errors seem to have started on the same day - they al started with in a few days, 'gold standard' diagnostics come back clean, the cpu does not seem sluggish, it is less than 5 months old with sort of close to top of the line parts and my gut tells me it is software.

    I started Comptia A+ training. Sometimes I monkey with things I should not. Usually I think I know what I am doing. But, possibly I did one small thing.

    I mentioned this briefly. But feel it is worth mention again. My .dmp files typically are located in c:\windows\minidump(I believe, correct?). These .dmp files are disappearing, being moved by something / someone other than me. I found an older .dmp file in my c:\windows file. Possibly I am deleting them but I do not believe I am?

    When I search for *.dmp files the cpu does not find them - WTHeck. It is there in my c:\windows dir. But, when I search them they do not come up. I will post the BSOD sooner than possible. In the meantime if you could check out the attached errors in the mean time. If you need additional info. Please let me know!

    I am too verbose. So, I will stop me here.

    Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!!!

    Virus, Hack, Bad Hardware? Bad Software

    Today my automatic updates downloaded 7 security files which addressed issues that would allow someone to 'take' control of your computer.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...69F6C1B5F96&displaylang=en&displaylang=en

    Actually I just counted there were 8 security type tools/updates. Also updated Defender/Security Essentials & other.

    Possibly I am being selective based upon situational bias.

    What I mean to say? I am having serious issues. I do not know exactly what the issue is therefore I am latching on to things which seem to make sense.

    But the security logs, general changes, privileged changes, odd internet related errors. Maybe its just broken hardware/software and I am jumping to conclusions - worth a mention though?

    Ive found that offering money on forums of this nature usually does not help. Sometimes it seems it might do the opposite? I do have a paypal account. I just will not use it from this cpu any longer until I am told it is ok or I figure it out on my own.

    Hi

    Now you managed to get into Safe Mode, did your PC still crash or not?

    What model ASUS motherboard do you have, if possible supply a link to it at ASUS?

    Have you checked your CPU for temp issues, is the inside of your PC and mainly the CPU heatsink and fan clean from dust and fluff, temp issues and I came across a PC that in work crashed with : 0x0000003d as its error code as your 1st post lists as some of yours could be a cause, especially random crashes.

    To check temps use something like Speedfan and please list your CPU, Motherboard and any others it lists, like HDD etc.

    To be honest, the event logs dont show too much, most are warnings that even I get tons of as they are just warning to a specific service not starting and that service may not actuall be needed anyway, the errors listed in the Event Logs, seem to point to drivers and the Nvidia Chipset possibly, but will need to know the exact model motherboard you have to suggest the chipset to try and re-install.

    Would really need a minidump file or a current BSOD code from a crash if you get one today, that will help narrow the cause a bit more.

    In Device Manager do you have any yellow! marks and if so what?

    In your other thread you mention buying retail Windows 7, so what did you install on this one, where did it come from, is it a beta, OEM upgrade disk, Downloaded off the internet and if so where from, plus if you did use an inplace upgrade from a previous Windows version what one was the previous one?

    Yout above post is surplus as it wont be the cause as your issue started before these updates where listed for download yesterday, do try not to get sidetracked with information as it may just start to throw a thread off track and anyone trying to help will just give up, due to info all over the place, stick to any questions asked.

    *I personally believe a backup of your important docs, files, pictures, settings, emails etc anythink thats important to you and then a clean install is best option, but do the above things first as this is last resort*

    Please review. All following messages will be much less verbose.

    Windows 7 Home Prem edition. It is a gemuine MS CD mailed to me from windows. The upgrade is identified as an OEM. I do not recall the exact version of Vista as it has been several months. Cyberpower built the system for me and seems to have done a great job.

    Asus:
    http://support.asus.com/search/search.aspx?keyword=m3n72-d&SLanguage=en-us

    I have received 2 seperate BSOD errors. I found out I have been deleteing them with CCleaner - I guess we all need to learn somewhere?

    The computer is not auto rebooting or just turning itself off for clarification. It would not boot from a reset(warm boot) - it would boot from cold always. I have not tested in great detail as turning on and off or resetting might not be the best.

    Speedfan pics attached. I am reading manual now doing my best to understand this program. I do not know what to make of it?. My HD seems to be hitting at 80 F. I have 2 small fans(or is it 3) directed towards my bays, the top of the case in the rear has a fan along with a standard fan on the rear by the CPU. Then obviously there is the PSU fan. All slots on back of case are in. Holding a skinny piece of ribbon I did my best to watch the airflow - through front out the back and up - seems 'very sound'.

    I make it a point to go in with compressed(h20 free) air, and a soft bristle at least 1x every other week or more. Been considering a non-static vac. I do not suspect my issue is components heating up due to 'dust insulation'. But . . . Honestly I have no idea

    Also attached is a log from Hot CPU tester. I am working with their support there(I hope) to figure out what this error is. Something about Share.Exe.
    ===================================================================
    I ran Western Digital's test. It did find errors(code 0223 or 223) but it reported back it was not an issue and it was able to fix them, I ran this program from DOS. It was an .iso file. West D does not have a 'tester' which works win 7.
    =========================================================================

    (2) 2 gig kingston mem sticks. Memtest 86 found no issue. pins look clean, slots & area are clean and other wise unhandled.
    ============================================
    This is a new issue:when I boot I have been getting an occasional report that there was a problem with consistency or something of that nature and it wants to run chkdsk. I have ran chkdsk /r more than once with what I believe are no obvious issues. My HDD also passes the SMART test - whatever that may be.
    ========================
    New Error Today when logging on as admin in a dialogue box: There was a provlem starting x86\\nos\bin\getplus_helper.dll File not found. It seems to be a spybot file or related to a virus per a google search.
    =============================

    Yes, I am in safemode now. Have been for 20 + min with NO issue. However, I tried to load safemode w/network 3 previous times and it loaded drivers did nothing for about 5 min then reloaded. Safemode no drivers or special loading worked every time.
    ======================================
    If this is a driver issue it is not presenting itself in device manager. Not a single "!" or "X"

    I ran into an issue earlier where I was forced to do a fresh install of windows. I followed sevenforums.com directions. I do not mind doing it again but am concerned this might be hardware and time wasted? Or I am concerned without identifying the problem it might continue. If nothing makes sense after brief review I do do what I am told better than anyone you know. THANKS THANKS THANKS THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You can still have drivers that are not fully compatible, even though they "look" ok in device manager.

    The machine seems OK during safe mode which means you'll have to figure out, almost 1 by 1, what on boot causes the problem.

    In safe mode I'd run msconfig>general and check diagnostic startup>reboot.
    If that does not cause any problems then I'd start checkmarking (under services/startup tabs) and rebooting until I find what could be causing the problem. Checkmark group by group until you can narrow it down so it won't take so long.

    If I load every program that I am able to and play chess for an hour in any type of selective startup or diagnostic I can not get the cpu to crash. However, when I change the problem back to normal startup let the issue begin.

    I will try my services like you suggested.

    *Halo suggested I get a program called speedfan. I simply have not had time to read the manual. When I run it all temps have green checks or arrows next to them except for the second GPU. The second gpu has a little fireball next to it 54c. Should I be concerned?

    If anyone is chiming in to help post #2 and post #12 are the most relevant. Post #9 contains some errors.

    I just noticed when I am unable to warm boot my HDD is not showing up in the list. I am not sure if that is part of the post test. This implies my bios or something is not finding my HDD? Is that important?

    Well, I will do what Halo said and stop cluttering my thread. I will also finish what elbiatcho1 said.

    Help?

    Instead of following Elbiatcho suggestions I reinstalled Windows 7. I used my Windows 7 Home PReium 64 Bit authentic MS CD - it was mailed to me from MS. However, I am still having the same error. The screen(s) lock up then get a white gloss over coating. I reinstalled so it saved all of my existing files to Windows.old and copied over all my existing ones. Doesn't this clearly imply this is a hardware issue now? Please any thoughts?
