I am afraid to go to school.

I have school tomorrow. A kid just got arrested for planning to shoot up our school on Tuesday, the Columbine anniversary. A few weeks ago he was seen with a uzi. Police investigated, but they did not find it. He turned himself in. We all think that turning himself in was part of his plan. He might have given the gun to a friend of his. I am honestly very scared. I value life, and I don't want to die. I am staying home on Tuesday, but there is still the rest of the week.

I am sorry you have to feel this way ,It should not have to happen this should be the best years of your life spoilt by morons but by law you have to go to school and you have to get over it .Be positive prove to these morons you are not going to be afraid and do well in your studies and make it a better world

Hey, z, Has this kid ever been in trouble before? Is he a member of any gang? Might be something to it, might not.

You cannot stay home from school all the time. You can't just quit school. I am sure the police are looking into it, and know a LOT more than they are letting on. Yes, you value life, but what about your education? You will certainly will have to go to school the rest of the week. I know, it is an awful thing, and some people have a very sick sense of humor. Nothing is even remotely funny about joking about what happened in Columbine.

Staying home on Tuesday, just shows you are afraid. Just go to school, and keep your ears open, and I think you will be fine. epsonone is right, these should be the BEST time of your life. Just show you are smarter than that kid is. I am sure he was just throwing his weight around, trying to get attention anyway. Come back on Tues., and give us a report

Any high school can have those threats. We had one here just last week. Nothing like having police and dogs rolling thru the halls. I wasn't trying to be funny, either. This stuff is very serious.

Staying out one day is ok if you feel unsafe about going in that day, but just don't let it get out of control. The boy turned himself in so it should be ok. Just keep your guard up.:major You'll do fine.

 

Man when I went to school I remember threats and bomb threats made every few months at max. Non ever held up obviously just mostly attention needers or sick people.

 

Zdog, trust your gut. I am not an advocate of missing school, but trust your instincts.

Back in the old days, we just met off campus and settled our problems. Nobody got hurt very bad.

 

This sums it up. Be careful, but not to the point where you're letting people like that have more control over your life than you have. Don't be careless, but don't let fear of what might happen take over and control everything either. Letting fear rule you doesn't make you safe.

Over here in the UK, we ain't got the problem of shooters in schools, but being a parent with a child in school, I worry that this 'culture' could catch on over here. I feel really sorry for your parents, Zack. Believe me, they will be frantic when this type of thing happens and your school is involved. It's a hard situation to call, we all want our kids to get an education, but how can we send our kids out to school when there's the threat of a shooting spree?
This situation would scare the shit out of me, I dread to imagine how your poor mother feels.

 

Sorry that one kid with issues is causing so much disruption in yours and others lives.
I'm a firm believer if something doesn't feel right don't push it.
Not to say that it's a frequent occurrence, if so you would never leave your house, some don't due to being so paralyzed with fear. That's no way to live.
I sincerely hope nothing happens.
It's usually when you least expect it anyway

you do realize today is Monday, right?

 

If I remember right 99% of the fights at highschool was over something stupid. And when our school had fights people showed up in this alley and parking lot. I refereed a few. Also the sucky thing about fights tho is pretty much many had like 2 punches and they were over. But there was some pretty good ones... I remember two mainy good ones.. guy spits on another friends shirt with water as a joke.. 5 minutes later fight. This 1 lasted 10-15 minutes.. and it was a tko... then a girl fight pulling and swining the girls back n forth even into parked cars... pretty crazy girls. Now most of them was guy runs mouth.. 10 seconds later he gets hurt..I even got choosen to fight few times... :-D I remember going into 9th grade.. and when starting HS pretty much you shouldnt run your mouth until you know somebody or who they are. Well I knew these people for being arrested and trouble.. and they talked crap about me and kept picking on me and in HS got step it up I wasnt going to be picked on in HS by these goons. SO I said to them fine you wanna fight we can fight.. everybody said omg at lunch.. blah blah going to fight blah blah and blah blah.. anyways I go to alley and they no showed.. Said they got better things to do... I said yeah run your mouth and thats about it..Anyways hated by them whole HS time but never got picked on again by them... Another thing I remember was friend I had his brother is stocked like a wall.. he said my brother bad arse.. 1st day of school 3 vrs 1 my buddy brother self defended himself and he won against 3 normal people..

 

Yes, and tomorrow is Tuesday. And Barack Obama is our president. And geek is spelled with three e's. I'm not losing it yet
