What Do You Think Of This Fan Bearing Lubricant?

I continue to have problems with all of my fans in all of my computers. After a year or so they all start to get noisy. Some of them get noisy in just a few months inside components I buy. I'm interested in buying some sort of lubricant since I all I have it hair clipper oil around the house. & I've tried that before but it doesn't last very long. Hence the reason why the hair clipper manual says to apply oil droplets every week or so.

I stumbled upon this oil on ebay which is supposedly perfect for pc fans:

What do you guys think about it?

Hmm, I would look at your environment first as I have 3 PC's running with 'run of the mill fans' from 8 to 3 years old and hardly ever an issue!:confused Only once did a fan seize on me. I don't know what else to say, all different makes and models too.

Well they don't normally fail, they just start getting real noisy. Some have failed before. But I usually oil the noisy ones up again. & when taking them apart I notice the original grease/oil or whatever they use is dried off. My enviroment in this house is dusty for some reason. Dust just builds up like crazy in my home. Well I'm kind of over exageratting but it does get dustier here than many other homes I've been to. & I don't know how to control the dust. I'm a very clean person... I vacumm all the time, but I believe the dust is probably the main reason why these fans get noisy. Blowing them with compressed air doesn't help either. It will for a moment but doesn't stop the noise forever. I like my fans quiet... So I can enjoy my tv and other stuff without background noise.

Does the lube you suggest I get last fairly long or just prolong a fans life/quietness for a small window of time before you actually need to toss the fan out?

I'm sorry I've been having this problem with most of my pc fans in every component for ages now. This place is fairly dusty and I clean like crazy!

It seems to last a reasonably long time in the instances I have used it. I only use Tri-flow occassionaly as my policy is to replace such fans.

When the fan begins to make noise, it invariably means the bearings are gone.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the help guys... I'll purchase that Tri Flow you suggested. As far as cleaning my cases go I do it all the time and yet these fans still manage to get noisy somehow. The dust problem in my home is unbelievable. I've spent at least $100 in replacement fans during the last three years of equipment usage on various hardware (CPU, VGA, external enclosure, etc). They advertise these fans as lasting more than just a few years. I guess those life span ratings are for optimal environments (eg: dust free areas).
