    Good morning,

My computer is old (8 yr. old in July) I have been going through PC hell for the past couple of months. Have been following suggestions from this site. They have helped a lot..THANK YOU!! I feel I still have a hidden malware. I believe it may be the "Panda Panda Process Protection Service". I ran the Panda uninstall. Nada. Hijack can't get rid of it. Is this a bad thing? Suggestions? Thanks again.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

This is not a malware problem since this service from Panda is legit. However since you have uninstalled Panda, the service entry does not belong there anymore. It is not running. The entry for the driver just was not removed. You can simply open a command prompt window by clicking Start, Run and entering cmd and clicking OK.

In the command prompt window just enter the below command

    sc delete PavPrSrv

That should remove the left over driver entry.

Note you have no protection on this PC and should refer to: How to Protect yourself from malware!

If you have malware problems in the future, please do not post HijackThis logs since we do not want them posted. The below is the procedure to follow when having malware issues.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

Thank you. I will follow your instructions. I am very new here, sorry for the "Hijack" files. I thought they would be helpful. Won't post them again.

    You're welcome.
NP! Just see the 6 sticky/pinned threads at the top of every page in the forum. They explain everything you need to know. ;) The two links I gave you in my last message are from these sticky threads.

Le Sigh.....I have done my best to follow the instructions from you kind folks. I ran "SuperAntiSpy" as the final step. I always have tons of spyware. For some reason, at times, my computer "grinds" then locks the Zapper programs. I usually have virus protection. Right now I am using Microsoft. Sec. Essen. I turned it off to see if it is blocking some of the correction programs. Just tried to run SuperAntiSpyware again. It has been "locked by the system". It's not my antivirus program that is locking them.

I had the "Security 2010" trogan/virus in Feb. My computer has not been the same since. BTW: I am an older lady. I have some computer knowledge. Sadly, not enough. I know there is something nasty hiding. It is driving me crazy trying to find it. :(

This is not what we give you for the last step. It is the first scan we ask you to run.

If you want help, you need to folllow ALL of the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and then attach the 5 requested logs.

I did run "SuperAnti spyware" first. I ran it again later in the day. I will go back to your first instructions and start again. I really appreciate your help. I am trying to do everything you instruct me to do. I get confused. Off to try again.

If you are following our instructions, they stated to only run scans once. ;) We need to see the first logs and we don't want you unnecessarily running scans over and over again which is a waste of time and could cause problems.

I worked on the "things to do" list yesterday. Had a few problems. I have saved the log files etc. We have company coming this evening, have things I must do. Will work on in on Monday.

I will say the Malware scan found nothing wrong. Seems I have tons of spyware for some reason.

I know I am probably annoying to folks who knows so much about computers. I am trying my best. Have a lovely weekend. I want to thank you and the others for your time and help. I truly appreciate you guys and the site. In the past this site Major Geeks has been a great site to answer PC questions.

Okay, but until you attach the 5 requested/required logs, there is nothing we can do for you.

    You're welcome and thanks. ;)
