How to look for bad info posted about me?

    I just need to know how to look for bad information that is posted about me on the net. Are there any sites that would cater to this type of info? how would I go about searching the net? The infor is rather sensative so I cannot say what it is here and now. Let me know if you need more clarification. Any and all people are welcome to reply Thanks in advance...:)

    Hi

    Try using some of the "operators" that search sites use, like Bing, Google and Clusty (Clusty may help as it can narrow items in searches much better than Google can)

    But no one site that can help you with this, you are just going to have to use operators of words or phrases you know are in the text to the info you want to find.

    Without more info like is this...
    1. Just posted info on a web forum or site
    2. Is it on social networking sites
    3. Would it be something that maybe documented for legal reasons, criminal, civil, public interest etc

    Mention the above as you could add search operators in to narrow down say info on maybe facebook to site:facebook.com "entertext"+"entermoretext"

    I am aware that it may go back quite a few years. However, I dont when the online stuff started maybe a year or two (best estimate). Also are you using my real name or just this online ID? They know my real name I am sure of this.
    1. I am not sure yet
    2. Possibly, as it involves a group of people, I believe.
    3. I want to look and discover for now and then Document it for possible future action reguarding harrassment on the job.

    Well your going to need more post to PM. But why are you concerned(coming up to trial). Did you cause trouble and looking to see if someone knows about? Like they said just do search engines. And type your name in it and see what comes up if any. Maybe even do James Brown chicago illinois(which would be 1st and last name and place you live) in google or yahoo and see what comes up(if any).

    My best recollection is that I was involved in the direct discharge of at least one emplyeee due to safety violations(this is known). The emplyeee belongs to a certain ethnic group(vague is better now). Another angle is this person may be trying to get one of their family members in the door to work, due to the recession and scarce jobs and the fact that he is looking for a trainee position(I think). But I think this may be secondary to the main reason that this employee hates me(I believe).

    Hi Matt

    I would use some of the search operators I mentioned and see if you can find any info at all, but if none of this has gone on a public website, forum or public access to social networking (ie, Facebook) then if its not searchable by a search engines spider then you may find nothing, if it was legal then their should be either online or in physical documents some sort of information.

    If no 2. then social networking sites will only reveal information if the users have their accounts public and to all to view, however many set their accounts to friends only, so maybe hard to trace if you have had issues with other said employees or bosses.
