    My server got hacked:(. Screwed up my website pretty bad.

    Unless they are spammers, worth checking siglines as theirs was spam link, guessing rhat user name will crop up a few times as they use autoimated software

    It was a linux box. Date and time got screwed up. Mysql values got changed. IP blocks got banned. It was a mess.

    Ah thought so on linux as its a weird setup in hacker/malwareland in that Linux servers are the ones more prominently infected as botnets that then infect Windows client PCs, its as usual down to as many may know or not, the most prominent software is the one malware writers will go after so as Linux is king in serverland its those that are infected (so linux safe?) and in home/client use its Windows, and we all know the browsers IE is at top % of users and attacked like mad but Firefox is closing so it will be attacked like mad by the end of this year, with many more vunerabilities croping up all the time.

    On linux its in some cases the administrators fault as they rest on the notion Linux does have malware, so they dont secure them as much as they should have.

    Pity I dont have or cannot find at this present moment a slidex from a talk I was at one this as it was damn interesting
